    Review: DJ Hero

ESRB: T for Teen Genre: Music Players: One Publisher: Activision-Blizzard Release Date: Oct 27, 2009 BUY! The music game genre is incredibly popular. It only takes one party to realize why. It’s a genre most anyone can relate to and won’t hesitate to pick up and play at a party. I’ve seen non-gamers leave my party and purchase a console and a copy of the rhythm game that they enjoyed. Because of this, we’ll continue to see innovation and attempts at new types of rhythm games. Activision’s DJ Hero had a rough road before it’s release which I believed overshadowed how great this game is. DJ Hero is a music-based game that is rooted in DJ Culture giving gamers an opportunity to scratch and mix some of their favorite songs to dance to. At E3, the energy for DJ Hero was high. An exciting concert was held from Eminem and

Are you ready to Dance your Cares away in the Fraggle Rock Comic

The visit back to my childhood is now complete. The Jim Henson Company and Archaia have announced that the first Fraggle Rock comic book will be out in comic book shops this April. Issue 1 (of 3) will be available for pre-order in Previews which is why Archaia wants us to know about it now. What’s also cool is the news of Archaia’s contribution to Free Comic Book day which is a flip book that will include Fraggle Rock and Mouse Guard for free on May 1, 2010. “All of us at Archaia are so proud of how Fraggle Rock is turning out,” said Stephen Christy, Director of Development for Archaia. “We’re taking a lot of unique approaches with this series, from launching it in our popular 8” x 8” Mouse Guard format to bringing in incredibly talented indie creators such as Jeffrey Brown, creator of Incredible Change-Bots, and Jeremy

New Alice in Wonderland video and pictures

Another week means more Alice in Wonderland information! This week we get a new video where the cast talks about the look and feel of the movie. The new screenshots are added to the group of screens we already have below. This is the first time that we’ve seen images of the Caterpillar and it’s cool to see more pictures of the white rabbit. I love the Tim Burton Knave and Red Queen sketch. I love that it shows how much thought Tim has put into the project from the beginning and how he had a vision to run with. Enjoy the new media and in case you didn’t know… Alice in Wonderland will be in theaters everywhere on March 5, 2010. The new pictures will be near the end of the screenshots:

    Haruhi Suzumiya returns!

Firstly, a big thank you goes to GamingAngels member, Shogun, for tipping us off to the news that all “Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” fans are waiting to hear – they’re coming back! According to an article on Mania.com, the official Twitter and Facebook pages for the ASOS Brigade simply posted a message saying that they were announcing the “return of the ASOS Brigade!!”. While there’s no word about when it will happen, we DO know that the 2nd season hasn’t been released on Blu-Ray in Japan. Whether it will be dubbed or not is also up for debate, but I would hope so if the efforts of this video are anything to go by: While the public’s response hasn’t exactly been favorable so far, it appears as though Bandai are planning on a big viral campaign – so if you thought you missed out the first time around, then you

Review – Duel: The Art of Combat

When I was asked to review this game, I was excited to see the description: ” Duel is a side-view 3D action game full of shooting, jumping, fleeing, chasing, slashing, dodging, rope-swinging and trying to kill your opponent.” I mean how can you not get excited when all those descriptive words are in the title? Rating: N/A System: Xbox 360 Developer: AwesomeGamesStudio Players: 1-2 Genre: Shooter BUY While it seems reminiscent of Worms (a game I was introduced to during my high school years),  Duel: The Art of Combat, has its own feel and prospective. There are three modes: story, duel and survival modes. Story mode has three difficulty levels, beginner, advanced and insane. In total there are four levels with four waves, each that you need to get through before you can advance to the next level. In terms of story, there really isn’t one. You just go through wave

Mass Effect 2 is Still Steamrolling the Competition

Despite a few hiccups in the beginning, BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 has quickly reached blockbuster status. In the single week it’s been on sale (okay, actually less than that), it’s already sold two million copies. It’s also garnered 40 perfect reviews and has retained a 96 on Metacritic. How long will the hype last? So far, it seems entirely deserved. What do you readers think?

Would you like some Kratos with that Slurpee?

Slurpees are good, but putting Kratos on them? Even better. Sony Computer Entertainment America has teamed up with 7-Eleven and Mountain Dew to celebrate the upcoming release of God of War III. You know that small title that everyone has been talking about? Our very own Warren is working on God of War III, I’m sure he’ll be celebrating with a Slurpee or two. Starting February 1 through March 31, there will be four Kratos-themed cups at 7-Eleven. A new beverage called Kratos Fury made up of a blackberry and lime-flavored Slurpee is made specifically for the Kratos Slurpee program. With each Slurpee comes a code that can be redeemed at www.Slurpee.com for God of War advanced content. The best thing you could win is the hoodie that is made for both males and females. How freaking awesome would that be? Oh what should I wear today…oh just my Kratos

Sci-fi action manga readers will be happy as there is a new manga named “Biomega” being released next Tuesday, February 2nd. Zoichi Kanoe plunges into the depths of 9JO, a sprawling island city in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, in search of Eon Green, a girl with the power to transmute the N5S virus.
