Gunnar’s CES announcements include 3D support

This is the week of awesome gadget announcements at CES 2010. So far, we can gather that much of the excitement if focused around 3D entertainment. TVs shipping with that ability, ESPN starting a 3D channel, or Sony talking 3D games, it’s all 3D and it’s the big talk of CES. Gunnar sent us their press release talking about their plans for 3D entertainment. The leading manufacturer of digital performance eyewear for gaming is creating a collection of 3D glasses enabled with components from their i-AMP(R) lens technology. These can be used with 3D platforms in gaming and video. “This is an exciting time for the field of 3D technology,” said Rob Aarnes, GUNNAR’s president. “There have been amazing advances in the delivery of the media, but we see a massive need for someone to address the optics of the eyewear.” Most current 3D eyewear seems to be of low

Darksiders – Interview with Joe Madureira

To celebrate the release of Vigil Game’s Darksiders, I thought I would get around to transcribing our interview with creative director, Joe Madureira. Joe Madureira (known as Joe Mad), is previously famous for his work in comics. Many say that Darksiders has a comic book like feel and Joe is the man to credit. He previously worked on Uncanny X-Men and his own series, Battle Chasers to mention a few of his works. Joe was dedicated enough to get a tattoo from the game when they finished it. Now let’s talk Darksiders… (The interview took place at a THQ event with The_DCD and NFamous Gamers in the group) What is your comic book background? Many fans are excited about this title because of the art you have created. Joe When I started off, Marvel used to have a series called Marvel Comic Presents and it showcased alot of new talent

The now-classic Capcom title, originally developed for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance, will be available for 1,000 Wii points. A bonus episode included at the end of the DS port will also be available for an additional 100 points, but not until May. In case you haven’t heard of this series before (or if you’ve lived under a rock since 2005 — don’t worry, we’ll help you), the Phoenix Wright series follows the titular young lawyer as he defends clients all over the place. Players collect evidence and clues during one stage of an episode, and defend their clients during the following stage until proven innocent, usually finding the true culprit along the way. The WiiWare version of the adventure will take advantage of the Wii’s unique control
