Star Trek Online has been in closed beta for quite awhile. We even gave away a key online through Twitter. But now the rest of you can try it out as Open Beta has started. Here is the information, particularly if you did play before in closed beta: “Anyone who played in Closed Beta will have their account keys switched over to Open Beta keys and will have access to Holodeck when we open up the server to begin testing. Fling with Fate, an Adventure in Pack-Opening

I couldn’t have been more excited when I came home from the dentist to see a package sitting on my bed. I instantly sat down to open it, and wasn’t I happy and surprised to see one of those slick Arceus lv.X pokemon tins sitting inside of it! I instantly took it out and hugged it. I hadn’t touched my pokemon cards since, oh, third or fourth grade except during random cleanups when I found them. Anyone who knows me knows that I love opening packs of trading cards. There’s something about the mystery and suspense of what might be in the packs that makes me anxious. It’s the same whenever I open up new Magic: the Gathering cards. So, of course I tear through the four packs that come with the really pretty tin and foil, promo Arceus lvl X card. I felt myself feel very happy as I

Robin Hood Season 3 on DVD January 12th

The BBC revitalized Robin Hood a few years ago with a brand new series.  It’s an extremely good series, and a great addition to the Robin Hood story, even if it’s only three short seasons.  Tomorrow, you’ll be able to grab the third and final season of this popular BBC show for yourself.  The third season is tougher and darker as the gang splits up and Robin heads out on his own to revenge Marian.  And it’s the intervention from Tuck (David Harewood) that works to stop Robin. Toby Stephens joins the cast as evil Prince John putting pressure on the Sheriff (Keith Allen) and Gisborne to take down Robin Hood once and for all. The third season is a 5-disc DVD box set with over an hour of bonus material including behind-the-scenes features, character profiles, video diaries and more.  If you’re looking for bonus features: A Legend Reborn (behind the scenes feature) A

    Guest Review: Lego Rock Band

Rating: E Genre: Rhythm Game Publisher: MTV Games Developer: Harmonix Players: 1-4 Release Date: November 3rd, 2009 RENT I am (almost) a 30 year old gamer, who is also mother to two children. My daughter is 9 and my son is 6. They both game to some extent, and they love to watch me stomp through a new campaign or kill the bad guys on xbox live in multi-player matches. But together we love to play any type of music game. LEGO Rock Band is what we have been playing as of late. The first thing to mention is the play list. There were plenty of songs that I love from the past and some new ones my daughter loved. All-American Rejects is a favorite of the younger generation, and she was surprised to see it was a song she didn’t know. I believe, “Swing, Swing” was their first hit

VIZ unleashes “DAUGHTERS” on the public

Despite the title I used, the latest manga release from our friends at VIZ is not a horror. Rather, it is a story of the lives concerning a mother and daughter family. ALL MY DARLING DAUGHTERS is the story of Yukiko, a businesswoman in her 30′s who still lives at home with her mother Mari. Their living situation suddenly changes when Yukiko announces she is getting married to her boy friend – an ex-host and aspiring actor, who is younger than Yukiko. Worried that her husband-to-be might fleece Mari, Yukiko decides to move in with her boyfriend. Leyla Aker, Editorial Manager, VIZ Media “ALL MY DARLING DAUGHTERS is a collection of five short stories that weave a complex tapestry exploring the important emotional relationships in women’s lives,” says Leyla. “Fumi Yoshinaga is known for creating richly developed characters and multi-layered stories that transcend genre. We look forward to bringing this
