Target Stores Bringing Wii Fit Plus to a Parking Lot Near You

Working on your weight loss-related New Year’s Resolution? Given up already? Well, if you are, or you have, Target and Nintendo have quite the deal for you (assuming you live in the right place). On weekends from Jan. 16-31, select Target stores will have the “Wii Fit Plus Experience” set up in the parking lot or entrance of the store. The “Experience” will feature eight Wii Fit Plus kiosks, where people can try out the game in a environment that will supposedly be like a yoga studio. (I’m kind of curious as to how they accomplish that feat, because I have never been to Target and thought, “Yeah, I’m gonna do yoga here!” And I love yoga.) Not only that, but ambassadors representing Target and Nintendo will be handing out healthy snacks from Target’s Archer Farms brand. The biggest thing, however, is that visitors who complete the Wii Fit Plus

The Kids (Might Be) Alright: Parents and the ESRB

A lot of us might think that parents today just don’t “get” the Entertainment Software Ratings Board’s rating system. It certainly looks like it sometimes, what with the 10-year-olds who get access to games like Grand Theft Auto and God of War. Even with game store employees pointing out exactly why something receives a Mature rating, it seems that some parents just don’t know (or don’t care to know). The results of a survey from developer/publisher Activision, however, seem to show that parents are more familiar than we might think, and that gamer kids themselves are also familiar with ratings. As part of their “Ratings Are Not A Game” campaign, Activision and The Harrison Group conducted 1,201 online interviews with gamers and their parents. They found that 82% of parents and 75% of children were familiar with the ESRB’s ratings, and 76% of parents believe that video games were a

Review: The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya

How to make a movie Haruhi-style: 1) Procure a camera and props by forcing your friends to dress up in revealing costumes and hocking items they know nothing about 2) Don’t write down a single thing, that way no big shot Hollywood producers can steal your idea 3) Unknowingly make changes to the environment just by saying you want things a certain way Its time for the school’s annual cultural festival, and Kyon and Haruhi’s class settle on doing a boring survey instead of something in the spirit of the event. Haruhi has other plans, and announces to the rest of the SOS Brigade that she has other plans. She wants to wow the attendees with a movie worthy of a Golden Globe. Unfortunately for Kyon, Haruhi’s movie is affecting the world around them. If she wants cherry blossom in November, somehow it happens. A talking cat? No problem, at

Project Runway is back for Season 7

Project Runway was a hot mess last season and I wonder if everyone involved knew it. Not to take anything away from the winner, but the cast and the challenges were boring and few people even cared as the season went on. But because I love Tim Gunn, I’m excited to give Project Runway and Lifetime a chance when season 7 starts today on Lifetime at 10pm et/pt. This time they are going back to their roots. Tim Gunn and team are back in New York and Lifetime is going to broadcast in HD. It looked terrible last season. So I’m really excited about that. In a radio interview earlier today, Tim Gunn stated that the judges will be the same (except guest judges) but that Nina and Michael Kors will be in every episode. Last season there were many absences by the much loved and sometimes hated judges. On
