The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo has finally announced their Sci-Fi Guest of Honour for this year’s convention – Leonard Nimoy!

Best known for his role as Spock in the original Star Trek series, he is currently a recurring guest star on FOX’s Fringe, playing scientist in hiding William Bell.

Calgary is no stranger to Nimoy, as the town of Vulcan is just an hour south of the city and plays host to one of the largest Trekkie conventions.

Keep in mind that Mr. Nimoy does charge an autograph fee, so put aside some cash for that and a photo op.

The Calgary Expo runs April 24-25th at the Round Up Centre (down on the Stampede Grounds) and a two day advance pass will run you $30. They are also introducing a VIP pass, limited to 100 attendees and giving you access to every panel, front of the line for autographs and much more. Pricing has not yet been announced for VIP tickets.

Other Special Guests at this year’s event include Tony Todd (Candyman), Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data, ST:TNG), Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars’ Lando Calrissian), and many other comic and anime guests.
