MapleStory Trading Card Game

By: RenoChan

maplestoryNexon America is opening up beta testing for an online version of the MapleStory Trading Card Game starting on Wednesday, January 20th. Innitally, play times will be from 10am to 6pm PST. iTCG is based on the popular free online MMORPG MapleStory. iTCG will be Nexon’s first browser-based game, which means it needs no download to be able to play. Players of this online TCG will be able to choose one of the four MapleStory classes: warrior, magician, bowman, and thief.

Players will get several abilities in the game like being able to attack other players and monsters, using non-attack actions like healing their HP (hit points), adding items to their character, and taking on side quests. Users can customize the starter decks that come with the game, and booster packs can be bought using in-game points they earn while playing. There’s also a trade lobby so users can trade cards in real time or just make a post saying what they are looking for.

iTCG has a facebook fan page that you can become a fan of to view artwork, meet other players, and talk about the game. The iTCG site is located here. It looks like a great game for anyone that wants to play a trading card game but can’t afford the costly packs and decks.

About RenoChan

Trading Card Games and Collectible Card Games are her passion. She can usually be found lurking around the Hobby Angels section or playing teaching games with her friends, inviting more people to the awesome world that is Magic: the Gathering. She enjoys playing on her Xbox 360 and DS, as well as her Playstation 2, and, when not online or gaming, is nearly obsessively playing trombone. Her quote? "Where are we going and why are we in this handbasket?"
