Even though the game has been out for a little while in Japan, today was the release day for the accompanying soundtrack for Final Fantasy 13.

The four disc collection features the orchestral music composed by Hamauzu Masashi (whose other works include Final Fantasy 10 and SaGa Frontier 2), as well as the official Japanese theme songs from songstress Sayuri Sugawara.

The collector’s edition is a limited run item and includes a 32 page visual companion book and a prequel drama CD, voiced over by the main cast and written by FF13′s director and scenario writer. You can also purchase the CDs themselves if you miss out on the collector’s edition.

If you are only interested in the theme song, you can pick up Sayuri’s Kimi ga Iru Kara single, which includes Eternal Love, the insert song for FF13, and Christmas Love. First press editions of this single include a promo DVD for Final Fantasy 13 and a special l’Cie coat of arms seal.

So the soundtrack is included in the CE? If so, I may actually look into getting it!

Yes indeed! I really wish I could afford the collector's edition since the visual book looks awesome.
