The Final Destination 3-D on DVD & Blu-Ray

finaldestinationLast year’s The Final Destination, the 4th in the Final Destination series hit theaters in 3-D, and today, January 5th, you can get your hands on the 3-D version of the movie on DVD and Blu-Ray.  The Final Destination, like it’s predecessor, Final Destination 3 has a brand new cast, and a brand new story.  New story, same theme. The Final Destination is directed by David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane) and stars Bobby Campo (99, Legally Blondes), Shantel Vansanten (TV’s One Tree Hill), Nick Zano (TV’s Cougar Town, TV’s Melrose Place) and Mykelti Williamson (TV’s 24, August Rush).

Here’s the basics:

Nick and some friends head to the racetrack for the weekend to watch a car race. , when the terrifying accident flies into the audience at 180 mph. People will splatter and be ripped apart, one girl gets her head knocked off by a flying tire, massive explosions, and eventually the entire stadium collapses onto the rest of the audience. Then Nick discovers it was just a vision that’s about to happen, and he gets himself and about 12 other people ejected from the stadium. But Death returns to finish off the survivors, with the freak accidents being more brutal than ever. ed1c24;" href="http://thefinaldestinationmovie.com/dvd/index.html" target="_blank">http://thefinaldestinationmovie.com/dvd/index.html

Now, what about the 3-D? Well, we’ve come a long, long way from the old days of 3-D movies, and while there’s your traditional stick-in-the-eye type gimmicks, overall, this is a decently done 3-D movie, true to the Final Destination theme. And if you like good 3-D scary movies, or are a fan of the series, this one is worth picking up. Get in on Blu-Ray, DVD & Download January 5th. You don’t have to watch it in 3-D though, the disc comes double-sided so you can watch the standard 2-D version of the movie, which holds up all on its own. The Final Destination will be available in 3-D on Blu-ray for $35.99 and will include two pairs of 3-D glasses inside. The title will also be available on single disc DVD for $28.98 You can also get it ON DEMAND through Digital Cable, Satellite TV, and select game consoles. It is also available to buy through DIGITAL DOWNLOAD from digital movie retailers and select game consoles.

Most people know by now that I’m a big fan of scary movies and games, so I think while not the best scary movie ever, that The Final Destination brings a lot of fun to the genre, and stays true to the series.  I’ve been a fan since the first movie with Devon Sawa, and I think it’s serves a good extension of the series, if not a conclusion.  Definitely going to be worth having around come Halloween when you’re ready for a good scary movie to sit around and watch with friends.

If you want to get it, you can grab either the Blu-Ray or Standard DVD versions from our Amazon store, or over at the Warner Bros. store.

If you grab the Blu-Ray, there’s several special features to look forward to, including two alternate endings:

  • Body Count: The Deaths of FD4
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Pre Visualization and Storyboards
  • My Commentary
  • Live Community Screening
