Ten Things to Do During Your PlayStation Network Downtime

So you may or may not know that PSN is down. Like, really down. (I have no idea if this redirect from the main US PlayStation site that GamingAngel pointed out in her post has anything to do with it, but that does look really fishy and hackeresque, doesn’t it?) I can currently only play Bejeweled 2 on ours at the moment, and almost every disc-based game crashes on start. It’s like the Zunepocalypse all over again! If you of the chubby PS3 variety can’t do anything on your Blu-Ray-playing brick right now, we have a few suggestions for you. Alphabetize something – your DVD collection, books, sentences within said books. Desperately search for your PlayStation 2. It still has to work, right? Learn to play marbles with your cat/dog. Take a late-night trip to the vet for a swallowed marble. Read GamingAngels. (Obviously.) Hide from Modern Warfare 2-obsessed friends

Second place will get travel and accommodations for him or herself. So by now you’re thinking: ‘I just have to tell a story and I could win all this? What’s the catch? There has to be a catch.’ Well, the only downside is that you have to be 18 years

What is going on with Playstation 3 right now?

Sony might be trying to make believe that this isn’t happening, but they seem to be in total shutdown. First we are getting reports that fat Playstation 3′s are unable to get online or play games offline. Not sure what could cause not only online gaming to be shut down but also the ability to play any game offline. Sony says they are looking into it, but the problem may be bigger than they can handle. @pkollar, writer for Game Informer found that http://us.playstation.com/PS3/dearplaystation/ had a very weird message on it. Something to the affect of turning on flash or javascript or to not waste their time. Sounds to me like a programmer that wanted revenge. Currently that link doesn’t show anything. We’ll update when we hear any news from Sony. I hope that it gets fixed soon because I was going to get in some gaming time!

Online Game of the Week – Patience Deluxe

This week marks the return of the Online Game of the Week here in the Casual section of GamingAngels.com! Of course we do still want you to check out the Game Zone because the games between here and there will still be different. But look here every Sunday for a new game to play! This week, I am getting back to my roots and playing a little solitaire! So in honor of that, here is Patience Deluxe. This is a kind of solitaire I don’t normally see out on the game sites. The object is to put the cards in order from left to right from kings on down in the same suit by moving cards around to the empty slots, decreasing in order from the cards next to the empty spots. Sounds easy, but sounds can be deceiving. Try it out, let me know how you like it. Also,

Microsoft planning to market Natal like the Wii

Microsoft is going to “borrow” some of Nintendo’s marketing skills for Project Natal. According to MCV, Microsoft is planning to use celebrity endorsements and will be meeting with companies to get coverage in non-games media like Vogue and Glamour. Does this mean that Natal will be basically a fitness machine? Aaron Greenberg stated that Natal would not just have casual game titles thrown at it, but these meetings seems to suggest otherwise. We can only hope that Natal will have more substance than we’ve seen on the Wii.

    There Will Be Partying!

“There Will Be Brawl” fans in Los Angeles are in for a treat – there is going to be a wrap party, and you’re invited! If you don’t know about the web series, let me clue you in. The series is a dark parody of the Smash Bros. games, and you get to see Mario and friends come to life to once again. The premise of the series has Mario, Luigi and Peach trying to protect the Mushroom Kingdom (as always) and solve some grisly crimes that have taken place. I have to warn you that the series is definitely NSFW, and is also not intended for anyone under the age of 17. As I said earlier, the TWBB people will be holding a wrap party to commemorate the end of the series, and to thank their cast and crew, but they also want their fans to join in on

    Guest Review: Vanguard Princess

Vanguard Princess is a free Beat ‘em up/brawler game in which you choose a main fighter and a secondary fighter and let yourself loose to beat up your opponent. Genre: Beat ‘em up Publisher: suge9 Rating: N/A Release Date: July 2009 Official Website (Japanese) After you manage to install it, get passed the little introduction Japanese introduction and fumble around with the controls, trying to guess what keyboard button does what, you enter a realm of surprisingly decent graphics and decent game play. The control buttons allocated were a little strange to get used to, trying to pull off moves that were more than just a block or a dash or a lame kick was part of the fun and frustration. After all, game theory is about the game being easy to play but hard to master. What was also odd was trying the multiplayer mode; this consisted of having
