Day 4: Heavy Rain “Four Days Challenge” Investigation

Previous: Day 1 “Four Days Challenge” Investigation Previous: Day 2 & 3 “Four Days Challenge” Investigation 9:00 PM 02.01.10 Day 4 Hello again, journal. Pretty sure I’m still not qualified to be a detective. Before I present you with your daily dose of psychobabble, I should probably mention I was right. It was “Aaah For Love.” PicXaminer.com sent me the results of my picture a few days ago. I can’t even look at it. It sends shivers down my spine and up again. Mr. or Ms. “@PerfectFolds” has been unusually quiet as of late. These past four days have been nothing but head games. All of his incomprehensible ramblings bring me another miniscule step closer to him/her. To “think like a killer” isn’t all that hard, is it? I mean, all humanity has are puny limitations. Oh no, “don’t do this, don’t do that,” but what if we just didn’t

EA Sports reveals Madden 10 Super Bowl Sim

Yeah, if you can’t tell I’m still bitter about the Vikings losing to the Saints. This weekend is the big game, the Superbowl. Where the Saints and the Colts will meet and we’ll have the number one team in football (but never in my heart). Every year EA runs a simulation of Madden NFL to determine the winner of the Superbowl. This year’s Madden NFL 10 Super Bowl Extravaganza is below and the results are interesting. Either way, I’ll be wearing my Vikings gear on Sunday and hoping that the full team is back for another go at it next year. Here’s the simulation if you want to see who EA thinks will win the Superbowl: EA Sports: Super Bowl Extravaganza

    Review: MatchMaker (iPhone/iPod Touch)

Rating: 4+ Genre: Puzzle Number of Players: 1 Publisher: Candystand Release Date: Posted Jan. 7, 2010 Cost: $1.99 BUY MatchMaker’s rules are simple: Touch board pieces to rotate them 90°, match halves, and then they disappear and you get points and a tiny amount of time added to the clock. Got it? Good, ’cause there’s a little more. Get one match of each color, and you get a bonus. And this isn’t Bejeweled – you can actually rotate pieces in advance and set up some pretty epic chains. That means you have pretty much two play style options: Either set lots of chains up and hopefully get all of your time back when you finally turn the key, or just do things as you see them and let bonuses happen when they happen. Me, I tend to choose the second method, and I think that’s turned out just fine, since

Miss Jimmy Fallon Last Night? Here’s the BioShock 2 Trailer, In Its Entirety

Yeah, I know. Not everyone watches Jimmy Fallon. Some of us just like to sleep (or watch Lost again, but I’d never, ever do that). So, since you might have missed it, here’s the new trailer for BioShock 2. Looks like a bit of the combat isn’t real in-game footage, but who cares? It comes out next week! Other people have to be excited, too!

THQ Looking Good; New Digital Studios On Track for 2011 Releases

Developer/publisher THQ published their third-quarter 2010 fiscal results today (which, for some financial reason I’ll never understand, ended December 31, 2009.). They were able to report “solid profitability” due to reduced cost structures and focused strategies. This is a significant turnaround from last year. Last year, THQ actually lost over $300 million in value and probably had many stockholders running for the hills. This year saw a modest profit of over $1 million. Not awesome, but hey, at least it’s a profit! (This does include a settlement from the termination of the THQ/JAKKS Pacific relationship in regards to producing World Wrestling Entertainment games.) THQ gained some market share, becoming the #4 independent publisher in the US, and they’ve decided to increase their digital presence with two new digital studios, renaming Juice Games and Rainbow Studios to THQ Digital Studios Warrington and Phoenix, respectively. These two studios will be creating games

    Blizzcon 2010 in October?

Not too long ago I saw a tip from WoW.com that they saw Blizzcon on the calendar at the Anaheim Convention Center for October 22-23. It fits the general dates as it is occurring on a Friday and Saturday as it normally has. However when I just checked the site now the listing wasn’t there anymore and my guess is Blizzard had them pull it. Given that we already had rumors flying that Blizzcon might take place in Vegas I would be careful about getting too excited over the news. I’ve included the screenshot that WoW.com snagged and if I hear any news I will definitely update the post. Hopefully Blizzard will announce when and where the convention will be soon! Namco Bandai Attempting World Record for Star Trek Online

Star Trek’s been around forever. Well, okay, not literally forever, but long enough that pretty much everyone knows what it is. Since Star Trek Online came out yesterday, Namco Bandai is looking for a special way to celebrate. They’ve found it: Getting as many dressed-up Star Trek fans to London’s Millenium Bridge by 1:00 p.m. on February 14th as possible. People from the Guinness Book of World Records will be on hand to make sure everyone is in full cosplay mode, and there will even be prizes. What kinds of prizes, you may ask? Well, try a lifetime subscription to the MMO, for one. The best-dressed fans will win subscriptions or even digital versions of the recent Star Trek movie. Sounds like it’s worth it, even if you’re a Redshirt.
