An innocent game turns deadly in new Sci-Fi manga

Finally! A manga based on a video game! Well, it’s news to me if it has been done before BUT has it been done like the new manga “BOKURANO: OURS” before? The story: It’s summer and 15 kids walk into a nearby seaside cave. They meet a strange man in the cave who invites them to play a brand new video game. Instead of running from the strange man (because we all know about stranger danger!) they let him explain the premise of the game, which is to pit one giant robot against alien invaders. The catch however is that they have to sign a contract to play the game. Little do they know what they are signing, and when they realise what they’ve gotten themselves into it’s already too late to change their minds. GamingAngels interview with Torchlight developer, Runic Games

During the holidays, Runic Games’ Torchlight was a featured sale on Steam and made the list of highly recommended PC games for GamingAngels readers. I grabbed this game at $10 and during the holidays it went down to $5. The sale prompted me to ask Runic Games how the sale affected purchases of Torchlight and I tried to get information on what Runic Games is working on next. Torchlight is a great game. What motivated the sales on Steam this holiday season? Thank you! It’s fun to see the word of mouth among friends about Torchlight, and that definitely factored into the holiday sales. Chances are you if you liked playing, your friends will too and as a last minute gift, you can’t go wrong. We had enthusiastic players buying up copies for their whole family, which is awesome! Some of my friends felt the game was great at the

Day 5-8: Heavy Rain “Four Days Challenge” Investigation

Note: Hey, everyone! Amanda here. Upon completion of this week’s challenges, players were rewarded with a little somethin’, somethin’ special. Check back on GamingAngels.com within the next few days to find out what it is! Previous: Day 1 “Four Days Challenge” Investigation Previous: Day 2 & 3 “Four Days Challenge” Investigation Previous: Day 4 “Four Days Challenge” Investigation 6:40 PM 02.05.10 Day 5-8 The past few days haven’t been as foggy as last week, when I was only beginning to comprehend what the hell is going on. Why is this happening to me? I still continue to ask this question …without answers. “@PerfectFolds” is doing a splendid job of setting up a witch hunt, wouldn’t you say? I feel like I’ve wasted so much time thinking harder than I should; this is probably my biggest downfall. Thinking too much is a disease, honestly. All these wasted days trying to understand

Review: Woolly the Jumper iPhone/ iPod Touch

There is a lot to like about Woolly the Jumper. The game is very stylish and has fun background music. You play as a sheep running from a crazed farmer who robs you of both wool and life. Rating: 4+ System: iPhone/ iPod Touch Developer: Assyria Game Studio Genre: Platformer/ Sidescroller PASS Woolly uses a trajectory based system to jump from one platform to another across the screen. As you complete these jumps, you can collect cherries to add to your points. There are 4 levels and each increases in difficulty. The jumping is fun but it soon gets frustrating. The trajectory is not perfect. Although the angles all looked correct, I still sometimes missed ledges and ended up back at the first jump. If this were the only issue, the games would still be very addictive. You’ll notice I said “if.” Sadly, it isn’t the case. Woolly is being

“EverQuest II: Sentinel’s Fate” Information, Screenshots, and More

Last night, Sony Online Entertainment hosted a virtual tour of some environments in its latest EverQuest II expansion, Sentinel’s Fate. I took the chance to take about a zillion screenshots of that (I apologize ahead of time for the quality, but the guy hosting had to turn his graphics down a fair bit for the stream). I put those in a slideshow with another zillion official Sony screenshots in the slideshow below. But now, a little more information about what I saw. The Sentinel expansion features a higher level cap (90), new overland zones (The Sundered Frontier and Stonebrunt Highlands), 12 new dungeons, 400 new quests (you will supposedly be able to have multiple active quests), five new Heritage Quests, more 2x and 4x raid zones, 2,000 new weapons/armor/items, alternate advancement abilities, and hundreds of new creatures. On our tour, we saw parts of a brand-new zone where you basically
