    Shonen Jump Chamionship Comes to Nashville

    This upcoming weekend, February 27-28, the Shonen Jump Championship will be coming to Nashville, TN. Yu-Gi-Oh! players of all age will be gathering at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center to test their skills. For anyone in the area that wants to participate, the registration fee is $20, and every player that signs up will receive 5 Absolute Powerforce booster packs just for participating. Registration starts promptly as 8 a.m. and goes until 10 a.m. when round one starts. The top 16 duelists from the Championship, as well as the top players from the Regional Qualifier on Sunday, earn themselves invitations to participate in their country’s 2010 National Championship. The top three finalists will receive a “Dark End Dragon” prize card, as well as the two finalists from Sunday’s bonus events. Sunday’s bonus events include a Pegasus League event and a Dragon Duel tournament for players 12 and younger.

    Guest Review: Boogie Superstar

    Boogie is EA’s attempt to cash in on the singing and dancing sensations made so popular by DDR and SingStar. The concept is sound, the Wii’s motion sensing controllers make it the perfect console to support this kind of game, and with the addition of a Logitech microphone and EA’s history of always including excellent music in their games, it would seem like it would be hard to get wrong. Unfortunately, EA is up the challenge, and managed to completely ruin a perfectly feasible game concept.     Anime Expo® 2010 Guest of Honor announced!

    Looking into going to Anime Expo this year? Hoping to see someone interesting? Maybe you might bump into one of our GamingAngels while you are there! But if that isn’t quite what you were after then hopefully the announcement of the Guest of Honor will suit your taste! The people at the SPJA (The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation) have let us know that the anime director and seiyu Shinichi “Nabeshin” Watanabe will be an official Guest of Honor at 19th Anime Expo. For those of you who may not know him by name, some of his works include Excel Saga, Puni Puni Poemy, The Wallflower, Tenchi Muyo! GXP and Nerima Daikon Brothers. At the convention “Nabeshin” will appear on guest panels, at meet-and-greet sessions and sign autographs for fans. You also might know “Nabeshin” as a character in some anime shows (such as in the picture above)
