BLAZBLUE iPhone App announced
Tweet
While Australians and New Zealanders have yet to get the “BlazBlue – Calamity Trigger” game for our Xbox 360′s or Playstation 3′s, but All Interactive Entertainment and N3V Games have let us know that there has been an app made available on iTunes for your iPhone!
The app is called the “Blazblue Fan Pack” and gives you a look at the game by letting you access Blazblue artwork, characters, competitions, moves, reviews, video and more! And the app is FREE!
If you’re quick, the app also has a way for you to win a copy of “BlazBlue – Calamity Trigger” for your console. The game is expected out in Australia and New Zealand on March 18th, 2010.
Don’t know what the game is about? Well, it’s a 2D weapons based fighting game that has a myriad of characters to choose from – from some screenshots I’ve seen, it looks similar to Mortal Kombat (for those that have played it before). The game was developed by Arc Works in Japan who are also the creators of the Guilty Gears franchise.
Here are some of the features from the game:
- For those new to the fighting action genre, the game has been specifically designed so that it’s easy to pick up at the beginning, with an ever increasing depth which introduces new and more demanding skills.
- The game features an all-original goth-anime cast with intricately detailed hand drawn high-Definition character sprites. And they are a unique bunch indeed.
- A Plethora of Defensive and Offensive Options at Your Disposal – Take advantage of Barriers, Counter Assaults, Rapid Cancels, Barrier Bursts, Ukemi Tactics and Distortion Drives to turn the tide of battle.
- Drive your way to victory! Use the unique “Drive Attacks” specific to each character to decimate your opponent.
- Console-Exclusive Content – Brand new music, animations, backgrounds, and a fully fleshed-out story mode have been made exclusively for the console release.
- Online Battle – Train your skills online through ranked and player battles.
Again, the release date for “Blazblue – Calamity Trigger” in Australia and New Zealand on PLAYSTATION®3 and Xbox 360® is 18 March 2010. And according to JB HiFi Online, you can Pre-Order the Limited Edition for both platforms for $99AU!
The fore-mentioned iPhone app is available right now!

Methinks Naomi does not know a lot about 2D fighting games, but that's ok. First off, so glad there is finally a release date for the game in Australia. I got it as a birthday gift back in August (and I really need to play it more).I think a better comparison for BlazBlue would be games such as Art of Fighting and other classic Neo Geo/SNK style 2D fighters. The game demands mastering button combos in order to pull off devastating moves and button mashing just won't do.
