There’s a Zombie on Your iPhone

Maybe they think it’s a faster way to your brains…

Today marks the much anticipated release of PopCap’s Plants vs Zombies specifically adapted to the iPhone and iPod touch.

“Plants vs. Zombies for iPhone and iPod touch marks the first adaptation of our wildly popular ‘flower defense’ game to a new platform, and we’re excited at how well it has translated to the iPhone and iPod touch,” stated Andrew Stein, director of mobile platforms at PopCap Games. “We’ve stayed true to the original computer version with the full-featured gameplay of Adventure mode, and have optimized this adaptation around a seamless touch interface. Some of the iPhone Plants vs Zombies features include:

*Quick Play – After completing Adventure Mode, allows easy access to any of the 50 adventure levels

*In Game challenges and achievement awards

*The treasured and helpful almanac, with plant, zombie, and player stats.

*Crazy Dave’s trunk-o’-the-car shop to keep you stocked up on the latest in zombie battle gear.

*Fluid animation technology – affording prettier plants and “zippier” zombies

*11 original musical pieces that mirror the increasing intensity of the gameplay

Being a huge Plants vs Zombies fan, this foray into other platforms is a pretty exciting chunk of news. Here’s to the first of (hopefully) many new renditions of this hilariously entertaining game!

Aww, I love this game. I never play enough! I think it might actually be the only tower defense title I've ever liked. I want to put a traffic cone on my head and drag my foot across the street.

Thanks everyone for playing! Plants vs Zombies is one of my personal favorites, and I have developed many strategies... some more successful than others... I do like two rows of Chompers with the front line dressed in pumpkins... with the winter melons to back them up! I think the Zombie Yeti is cuddly... and funny.
But enough about me... the winner of the PvZ iPhone game will be comment #3! Congratulations, Matthew! And thanks for the link to the Tall Nut blog - quite entertaining.

I. LOVE. PvZ. Played the hell out of it on PC. Great song at the end, too. "There are zombies on the lawn, we don't want zombies on the lawn."

I love PvZ! I got my fiancé hooked on it, too. I love the three-peater. He uses the garlic a lot. He plants all his sunflowers on the sides and puts a garlic in front of them. Then he packs the inside lanes with three-peaters and torchwoods. He'll be SO jealous if I win a copy of the game for my iPhone!
