Upper Deck to discontinue the World of Warcraft TCG

By: stealthyslyth

Sadly in a press release today Upper Deck has confirmed that they will not be renewing their contracts with Blizzard to continue the WoW trading card or miniatures games. Citing a downturn in sales and a general slowing in the market as their reasons, Upper Deck plans to sell cards and minis through the end of March but after that no more card packs including the Class Starter Deck, Wrathgate Booster, Souls of Vengeance Starter, Deluxe Starter and Booster will not be released. “We are currently working with Blizzard Entertainment to facilitate a smooth transition as they work on their own plans for a World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Further announcements on this transition will follow over the coming weeks.”

Now there was a blue post from Zarhym that confirms the statement above from Upper Deck and something tells me that the transition could be an easy transition but it may take a bit of time. So no need to worry too much as the TCG isn’t going anywhere!
