Pax East announces Boston Indie Showcase

You’ll be able to get your indie game fix at Pax East coming up on March 26- 28 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. Pax East is concentrating on the Boston indie scene showcasing games from Fire Hose Games, Dejobaan Games, MIT’s Gambit game lab and more. The idea is to showcase companies that may not get to be shown at the larger indie festivals. “Boston welcomed us with open arms and we wanted to give a little of the love back. We knew there are some great companies in Boston that can’t normally take booth space, so the Showcase was born,” said Robert Khoo of Penny Arcade. “Our winners have put together a selection of titles that are fun and original; but most importantly they show what gamers with passion and dedication can do.” The winning entries are: · Slam Bolt Scrappers – Fire Hose Games – A

Konami confirms launch of DLC for GTI Club Supermini Festa!

“Beep, Beep! Beep, beep! Yeah!” came to my mind when I saw the awesome looking transportation (or should I say “cars”) from Konami that you will soon be able to download for your copy of  “GTI Club Supermini Festa!” for the Wii. While I would be happy to have ones of these babies sitting in my driveway right now, you can expect the downloadable content to be available around the 25th of March. Those who are interested in getting this content just need to join the “Ranking” option in the game and it will download new customised paint jobs for your MINI Cooper S, ABARTH 500, VOLKSWAGEN Polo GTI and PEUGEOT 207 GTi cars! For free! While there are more going to be announced in the coming weeks, have a sneaky peek at what’s up for grabs at the moment:

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Gets the Vaguest of Release Dates, Along with Screenshots

Square Enix announced an actual time to expect to get Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. But before you go off putting together your costume for the midnight release, there’s a little bit of info you need. First off, you don’t know what day you need that costume yet. Square Enix has only said so far that the release will happen this summer. That’s a three-month period (or, if you live where I do, more like five months). But of course, they want to get you hyped up about it now, rather than later. So, they’ve let a little slip. Including screenshots from the English version. But I’ll get to those in a second. Birth by Sleep tells the story of three youths before Sora’s time: Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, all of whom are training to become Keyblade Masters. But as usual, crisis happens, and they’re stuck fixing it. (We sure

    New Alan Wake Screenshots Revealed

Here are a few more (admittedly creepy) screenshots from Alan Wake, that game we don’t know a ton about. (Wish we did.) Is releasing a few screenshots at a time, like they’ve been doing, just overkill, or is it pretty cool?

NBA JAM Trailer Is On Fire – Boom-Shaka-Laka!

I have a secret from my childhood. A lot of people don’t know it, but I really dig basketball games. And about 95% of that love comes from crazy title NBA JAM. The over-the-top graphical style, the way-different-from-real-basketball rules (I don’t know of any basketballs catching on fire in a real-life game), and especially the narration. The title is due out for Wii, and possibly other consoles, sometime in the future. Video Games | NBA JAM (2010) | Exclusive Debut Trailer XBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo Wii
