    ECA announces new benefits for members

    The Electronics Consumers Association (ECA) is a great organization for all gamers to join. They represent us in many government battles whenever they decide to go after “the enemy” or as we know it, video games. Today the ECA announced new partnerships that will provide discounts to ECA members. “The ECA has made great strides in identifying and forming partnerships with like-minded companies that promote and embrace the gamer lifestyle,” said Vice President of Marketing Heather Ellertson. “These great companies share our passion and we are thrilled to be able to partner with them, and in turn, pass along a host of valuable incentives to our members.” The newly added companies are: 8-Bit Vintners ASTRO Gaming BluePenguin Software eForCity G8 Brand Game Design Expo 2010 Razorleaf Studios Leashtec PlaySpan Sprint SteelSeries The website doesn’t list those deals just yet, but you can sign up at theECA.com.

    Top Cow’s events at WonderCon

    WonderCon is coming up very quickly! The three-day convention starts April 2 and runs through the 4th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. From what I hear, the conference is jam packed with amazing talks, cosplay and comics. Top Cow sent us an email that explains what they will be doing at the con, in case you are planning your schedule ahead of time.     Atlus wants to replace your broken Strange Journey soundtrack

    Atlus may have shipped a defective product, but they are making it easy for you to get a new one. Atlus announced today that they will be replacing defective bonus soundtrack CS from launch copies of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey for the Nintendo DS. “Due to a manufacturing error, the bonus soundtrack CD bundled with Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey does not play properly,” stated Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Atlus. “We are moving quickly with our manufacturing partner to replace defective soundtrack discs, launching a fulfillment site into which customers can input their information and receive a new soundtrack CD in 2-4 weeks.     Get Thundercats statues for your figurine collection

    I don’t believe the 80s will ever go out of style. Pop Culture Shock Collectibles are helping you never let go. They announced that they will be releasing a series of 1/4 scale mixed media statues based on Thundercats! The statues will be released sometime this year. “It should come as no surprise that I’m a big fan of 80’s properties” stated Jerry Macaluso, President and Founder of Pop Culture Shock Collectibles. “Street Fighter™ allowed me to bring iconic characters to people’s homes in the most striking format I could conceive.     Weekly Dose of Zombies

    In preparation for the launch of WorldWinner.com’s cash tournament version of PopCap’s Plants vs Zombies, the folks at WorldWinner are gearing us up by releasing fun teaser videos each week.     Special Guests Announced for PBS Video Games Live Special Filming April 1

    Video Games Live is recording a concert on April 1 to start airing on PBS affiliates on July 31. So if the tour never comes near you, this could be your best chance to see the show. The show they’re taping is in Kenner, LA, and will be available as a DVD, Blu-Ray disc, and CD. This particular production will have more special effects, screens, and…special guests. Guests for this concert include the “father” of video games, Ralph Baer. He will demonstrate his original “brown box” gaming system, and one audience member will be chosen to challenge him, while the Louisiana Philharmonic provides the soundtrack. The meet and greet portion of the evening will include Video Games Live creators Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, not to mention Marty O’Donnell (Halo), Russell Brower (Blizzard), Gerard Marino (God of War), and Christopher Tin (Civ IV).     Paradox Skips the Trip to the Store and Goes with Guides Printed On-Demand

    Paradox Interactive recently launched a new service that prints strategy guides on demand, accessible via GameGadgets.com. The guides are printed by Lulu.com, a popular online printing service. The first guide to be available is for Europa Universalis III: Heir to the Throne. The title, written by Ed Hanks, has 112 pages packed with information. For people who already own the game, the strategy guide is currently available for online reading at the Paradox forums.
