Bethesda Announces inXile’s “Hunted: The Demon’s Forge”
Man, everyone at Bethesda must be pretty busy right now. They’re already publishing Rage, Brink and Fallout: New Vegas, and now we’ve got another title to add to the mix: Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, by inXile Entertainment.
Hunted is a co-op third-person action title for 360, PlayStation 3, and PC that uses the Unreal 3 engine, just like your BioShock and Gears of War titles – not like Bethesda’s other titles you know (Oblivion, Fallout 3); those use the Gamebryo engine. That in itself is interesting. (Though the fact that this isn’t an Obsidian title like those two games are has a lot to do with it.)
You’ll essentially be crawling dungeons with two mercenaries: E’lara and Caddoc. The former is a ranged weapons expert, the latter a master swordsman. You’ll take on wave after wave of enemies with these two with awesome co-op attacks, special moves, magic, and the ability to heal each other from anywhere on the battlefield.
Of course, they’re not doing all of this for the fun of it. (Some of it, but not all of it.) Townsfolk have been taken away, and no one knows where. Since they’re mercenaries, and the prize is literally a fortune in gold…well, I think you know where it goes from there.
We’ve got some screenshots for this, but unfortunately no release date yet. But based on these…well, it shouldn’t be that long of a wait.
