GamingAngels interviews God of War III’s Todd Papy

Last week GamingAngels was invited to a God of War III event that celebrates the upcoming launch of the title and also gave us a preview of another area of the game. The room was dark and full of LCDs, Playstation 3′s and a whole lot of Kratos. Which is everything a girl could want and more.
The food went fast, but that was okay because this angel was there to play. The area we were allowed to play was following a cinematic and a battle that ultimately lead to fighting against Poseidon. One thing that continuously shocked me was how “epic” everything felt. Yes, God of War always feels epic, but it’s another thing to take in exactly what is happening in the game. While I have not played the whole game and this is not a review, I have to say I was very impressed with what the demo had to offer. So what did it offer? Large moving cinematic backgrounds, while you battle in the foreground. Fighting that goes upside down, right side up and on the z axis. No need to worry, fighting hasn’t lost the violence level we know and love. I saw a couple of Brutal Kill moves that made me giggle and I love clearing an area of bad guys at once.
In our interview with Todd, we go over what gamers can expect in God of War III, as well as what it’s like to work on a game that may be considered one of the flagship titles of the Playstation 3. We also spoke about the struggle that Australian gamers are having getting the approval to have a Mature rating for games.
Redmond joined me for this interview. I hope you enjoy the interview and get excited for God of War III!
