EA Play has revealed that the next expansion pack for The Sims 3 is to be titled “Ambitions” and is due to arrive in June 2010. This is the second expansion for the series’ third entry, and allows players to pursue more paths and careers. The player has complete control of their Sim while they’re on the job, and you can choose what they do at work. Doctors can make house calls, firefighters can save lives…or, conversely, try choosing a more devious route and test experimental medicines or smash everything at the victim’s home. Your actions at work actually affect the entire neighborhood.

Players can now choose more exciting jobs. Be a ghost hunter, inventor, sculptor, or investigator. Architects can change the entire look and feel of a neighborhood and town. Being a stylist or tattoo artists lets you give your neighbors a bit of a makeover.You are in charge of how your Sims’ careers progress and decide if they will work for good or evil, pursue creative endeavors or technical affairs, climb to the top quickly, or be a slacker. The future of a Sim’s success or failure is entirely in the hands of the player, and this expansion pack is almost more like an entire new game as an add-on!

The Sims 3 Ambitions will also be available for feature phones, iPhone and iPod touch. These versions will have customized mobile gameplay which will not require a base game to play.
