Olivia Munn to Host Celeb Lost Planet 2 Tourney

Capcom’s month-long “Kill Big for Charity” campaign comes to an end on May 5 (which has Capcom donating $25,000 for 1.5 million demo downloads, so you’d better get it on your console!), and the next day is one giant Lost Planet 2 tournament in Los Angeles that brings together celebrities, the press and fans. This tournament will be hosted by G4TV’s Olivia Munn. There’s still a chance to win your own entry to this event, and Capcom will even fly you there – play the demo and submit your best tips and tricks to Capcom Unity! Rapture Metro Hitting BioShock 2…Someday

Apparently quite a few people heard about 2K’s upcoming “Rapture Metro Pack” for BioShock 2, and they asked a ton of questions about it. So, 2K let some more details slip, and even added a couple of screenshots to the mix! The DLC pack will cost 800 MS Points, or $9.99 if you’re getting it from PlayStation Network. Six brand-new maps will be available for multiplayer, they’re adding three new achievements/trophies, and the new “Rebirth” feature for multiplayer gives you the option to start completely over once you reach rank 50 – if you do it, you get a special mask. 2K also clarified that the new content won’t be available this week. They also didn’t say when it would be available, so it sounds like we have a wait on our hands, but maybe not a long one. Will you be grabbing this?

Sims 3 Will See Life in Your Console This Fall

Charge up your controllers, because you’re going to have to take care of some Sims this fall. The Sims 3, the third major entry in the wildly-popular series that allows you to make people your pets, is coming to consoles, as well as the Nintendo DS, more than one year after its initial release. Each version will have its own exclusive features, and, as EA titles have been wont to do lately, will include a feature that only the title’s original purchaser will be able to enjoy. In The Sims 3′s case, it’ll be the ability to share and download created content, as well as a special feature that allows you to connect to Facebook (PS3 and 360 only). Some people might not care about that so much, but I’m fairly sure that a few of the extra-casual gamers will be none too happy if they buy a used copy.

Interview: Strawdog Studios – Space Ark!

Fans of color and fun may remember XBLA game Geon, the spatially crazy grid game where you collect pellets and power-ups and try to sabotage your friend. It’s fun and addictive, and anyone owning an Xbox (or Playstation or Wii) should already have it in their collection. Geon was brought to your console by Strawdog Studios, “an innovative and modern video game development company” from the UK. Since they have a new game on the way, the ridiculously adorable Space Ark. Dan Marchant, Business Development Director from Strawdog Studios was kind enough to let me ask him about Strawdog and Space Ark, due out this spring. What was the idea behind the really interesting (and colorful) story? A very odd mixture indeed – Space Ark was inspired by many of the early Arcade games, such as Arkanoid, Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands - with a pinch of The Hulk. The designer was watching his kids
