Nintendo DS and Wii are back on top

NPD numbers are coming out. Is it that time again already? I think I’ve lost track of what date it is. Either way, NPD numbers confirm that the all the various DS systems sole more than 700,000 units nationwide. Unfortunately, we don’t get a breakdown per system, so we don’t really know how the DSi XL performed against the rumors of a 3D DS.
Sales of the Wii stayed strong at 560,000 in March.
“Demand for Nintendo fun continues unabated,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We’re glad so many people are able to get their hands on our systems as we prepare for the May launches of Super Mario Galaxy™ 2 for Wii and Picross 3D™ for our Nintendo DS systems.
The titles that were strong were of course Pokemon. Which is evident from the lines of kids everywhere to pick that title up at launch. Soul Silver actually sold better than HeartGold.
