A Little Extra Coverage For Things That Start with PlayStation

Sony announced the “PlayStation Protection Plan” today, which allows everyone with PS3s and PSPs to buy extended coverage for the devices – as long as they’re still under the original one-year warranty. It’s like AppleCare…but from Sony! Pricing for the plans includes all shipping charges, as well as all repairs, which will be done using official parts at SCEA-authorized facilities. So now, you can skip the sales pitch at the [insert giant electronics retailer here] and buy an extended warranty that will actually work when it’s supposed to. Pricing is as follows: PS3 – 1-year extension ($49.99) or 2-year extension ($59.99) PSP – 1-year extension ($29.99) or 2-year extension ($39.99) PSP
