This Left 4 Dead 2 Mutation Left a Permanent Mark

Due to popular demand from members of the L4D2 community, a permanent new Mutation has been added: Realism Versus. This combines Versus and Realism modes, if you couldn’t tell by the name. Apparently, everyone loved the Realism Versus mode so much that Valve asked if the people wanted it to stay, and they got an overwhelming “yes.” This week, owners of “The Passing” DLC get the Mutation of “Follow the Liter.” One group of cans spawns at a time, so you know where to go – but so do the Infected. Uh oh. You have to wonder, though – is every game mode going to get the same treatment? Maybe every Mutation that you love will become permanent! Never too much of a good thing, right? If you want more information, visit www.l4d.com.

Glam Up Your Style with Glamasaurus

Lately we’ve been talking a bit more about fashion for the female gamer on GamingAngels, showcasing some online stores and upcoming lines of clothing and accessories aimed towards those of us who are a bit older but still want to flaunt our love of gaming and geekery. Etsy is one of those great online destinations when you are looking to find unique items. Glamasauraus opened on Etsy just over two years ago, but Andreanna has been crafting since… well, forever! A stay at home mom, she juggles taking care of her daughter as well as creating and running her Etsy store. Glamasaurus boasts an awesome 100% satisfaction rating and features an amazing variety of fashion accessories and hand-made figurines. I’ve already spotted a good $300 worth of things that I wish I had the money to splurge on right now, as well as seen a few items I wouldn’t mind

How the Big Boys Roll: GDC Canada Day One

There are five other conferences at the Vancouver Convention Centre, most of which boast larger audiences than GDC Canada. Vancouver is a hot spot for gaming and game development. The Game Design Expo, run by Vancouver Film School, attracts fresh talent with the promise of scholarships, a chance to show their partially developed games, and network with people in industry. We have close to fifty (!) game design and development studios in Vancouver with a major university and several private institutions teaching game design and development. It caught me by surprise that there weren’t more people (and more exhibitors) at the event. Day One of the Game Developer Conference is all about learning about how the big boys do it: everything from monetizing social games to choosing the right lighting to casting the right voice actors. Or, if you are one of the big boys, how the other boys do

    Iron Man 2: The Game?

( Yes, Angels. That question mark is meant to be there. ) It was probably one of the most entertaining summer films with a comic book hero in quite awhile. Well, at least for me, not a lot compared to RDJr’s undeniable charm as Tony Stark. We saw the film, we were ecstatic for the teaser trailer of the sequel and everyone is pleased as punch that the movie is coming out today. Let’s ask the video game community though how excited they are about the tandem-released title and you won’t find many even remotely muttering about it let alone excited. Why is that? The Iron Man franchise had the beauty and brains of a cheerleader with a promise ring from her jock boyfriend when it came to film — but when it came to the video game title? Well, that was the slow kid under the bleachers that everyone
