WomenGamers.com scholarship for girls

I highly respect and love WomenGamers.com, because they offer things like this scholarship for gaming girls. One day I’d love to offer a scholarship on GamingAngels but until then it’s great to be able to support our friends at WomenGamers.com and promote theirs!
If you are or know of a female from ages 8-18, please encourage her to apply for the scholarship to National Computer Camp (NCC).
At NCC (http://www.NCCamp.com), campers can design a 2D or 3D video game, learn to program, create a graphic video, take apart a computer, create a home page, play tennis, play Civilization and make new friends. Now in its 33rd year, NCC is America’s original computer camp with locations in Connecticut, Georgia, New York, and Ohio.
“What we are looking for in the scholarship applicants is the ability to critically dissect the games they play and understand why they find them engaging,” says Ismini Boinodiris Roby, Chief Editor and Co-Founder of WomenGamers.Com. “The winner can then take that raw potential and enter into an exciting summer camp program where they’ll get to see how games are created and participate in the development process.”
To qualify, applicants have to submit a 500-600 word essay that answers the following question: “What is your favorite video game, and how would you change the design to improve it?” Send the essay to scholarship@womengamers.com.
The original deadline is May 14 but I believe that has been extended. So please apply and spread the word as soon as possible! Let’s support a great program that can help more young girls enjoy and have fun learning about tech and gaming!
