The story’s one the world waited a decade to read, and with the film version coming this November, of course there’s going to be a video game to go along with it.
Warner Bros. Interactive, along with EA Play, announced that the video game version of the film will be shipped in two parts, just like its film counterpart, and the first of these will be released in the fall for all major gaming platforms.
This is the first time the primary action has taken place outside of Hogwarts School, and the darker source material will lead to a more action-oriented game. Harry and his friends will engage in several epic battles in their quest to destroy all of Voldemort’s Horcruxes – including fights with Death Eaters and Snatchers.
Here’s a trailer, featuring what appears to be quite a lot of spell-aiming. Maybe Harry Potter is the third-person shooter I’ve been waiting for this year. Well, if they do it right, anyway.
