Party Like It’s 9/9/99: Dreamcast Classics Coming to XBLA and PSN
Tweet
SEGA announced plans yesterday to bring classic Dreamcast titles to the current generation of systems through downloads.
You’ll be able to download Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi, two of the awesome-est titles for the system, this fall via your console’s downloadable games portal (XBLA or PSN).
Each game is “based on” the original Dreamcast versions, so it’s not clear whether or not the stuff that made Crazy Taxi awesome – music by The Offspring – is going to make it into these versions. (But never fear, GamingAngels readers! I have contacted someone at SEGA to ask that all-important question.)
They’ll also be adding online leaderboards as well as high-res graphics and surround sound. Achievement and Trophy junkies can also get their fix from these titles.
Are you excited about this? What Dreamcast games would you like to see in the future? As far as I’m concerned, Shenmue needs to make it onto my PS3 pretty soon, especially if it gets the same graphics upgrade that Crazy Taxi got.
EDIT: This gameplay video shows that Crazy Taxi has indeed lost a ton of its original charm – the Offspring tracks appear to have disappeared, and you’re not taking your customers to recognizable locales any longer. Does this change your opinion of the game?

I am not sure if i can play, while not listening to "All I Want". It is what made the game a classic. le sigh
