Square Enix releases benchmark tool for Final Fantasy XIV
Tweet
Are you excited for Final Fantasy XIV, but not excited about worrying whether or not your system will play it at a framerate that makes it worthwhile? Do you just want to see some real scenes and characters from the game?
The free 335MB download is available from nzone.com [direct download link - ZIP] and supports HD (1920×1080), and 5.1 channel surround sound, and four different languages (English, Japanese, German and French). The benchmark is only available for PC, and requires a minimum of DirectX 9 [download here]. Once installed, the game will fly through several scenes with many characters (including foes) and keeping track of your benchmarking score. You can also choose which character you follow. Once complete, it will give you your final scores and a rundown of your system specs.
Square Enix reminds downloaders that their minimum spec recommendations may not actually run the benchmark as well as expected and does not guarantee that the final product will play at the same level.
