    Sentai Filmworks announces High School of the Dead

    At AnimeExpo this weekend Sentai Filmworks has announced it’s acquisition of the new anime series, “High School of the Dead.” Based on the ultra-violent manga by Daisuke Sato, directed by Tetsuro Araki (Death Note and Black Lagoon) and produced internationally by famed studio Madhouse (Death Note, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter-D Bloodlust.) High School of the Dead combines flesh-eating zombies with state of the art animation from an all star team. Sentai Filmworks will be releasing High School of the Dead in both English dubbed and subtitled versions throughout North America.

    FUNimation gets rights to simulcast three series

    It’s Anime Expo weekend which means plenty of announcements to be made. FUNimation announced this weekend that they have acquired the exclusive rights to the US online simulcast of Aniplex’s second seasons for three shows. The shows are “Black Butler”, “Sekirei”, and “Shiki”. The shows will be a simulcast debut on the funimation.com website. All episodes will feature the original Japanese dialog with Enlish subtitles.
