“DC Universe Online” reveals a star-studded vocal cast

Sony announced an impressive list of voice actors for DC Universe Online today, including some pretty well-known talent. Mark Hamill (who you might know as Luke Skywalker) will once again reprise his role as The Joker, and Kevin Conroy will play his adversary, Batman, just like they’ve done in previous projects like Batman: The Animated Series and Batman: Arkham Asylum. Conroy has portrayed Batman for longer than any other actor, live-action or animated. The rest of the main cast includes Adam Baldwin (Superman), Gina Torres (Wonder Woman), James Marsters (Lex Luthor) and Michelle Forbes (Circe). The PC and PS3 MMO is expected to ship November 2. For more information, go to www.dcuniverseonline.com.

Rockstar rounding up “Red Dead Redemption” cheaters and griefers

One of the biggest stars in Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption is the multiplayer. Unfortunately, since the game’s launch, a few players have opted to bring the no-rules atmosphere of the West to Free Roam. It won’t last much longer, though, since Rockstar’s ready to step in with a title update planned for release within the next month. First off, cheaters will never again prosper. Once they know you’re cheating (beyond a shadow of a doubt, they say), you’ll be banned from Red Dead’s multiplayer for a period of time. How long? That’s Rockstar’s choice. Could be a day, could be a month, could be a year. In any case, when you’re back, you’d better stick to the straight and narrow. Not only that, but anti-griefing measures will be put into place. If you’re being bullied repeatedly, you’ll get the option to Transport and respawn in a region of your choosing.

Karen Traviss to write new Halo novels

Yesterday Tor announced that Karen Traviss (one of my favorite authors in the World of Warcraft universe) will be penning the sequel to the Halo: Ghosts of Onyx as well as some future books to expand upon the Halo universe. Traviss has already tried her hand at the Halo universe when she wrote the short story “Human Weakness” that was included in the Halo: Evolutions short story anthology. “When I was invited to write Halo fiction I already knew it’d be right up my street; not just because military fiction is my specialty, but because there’s also huge unexplored depth, grey areas, and really uncomfortable moral dilemmas that underpin the Halo story, and that’s like catnip to a writer like me.” says Traviss. “I write what’s known as tight third person – that is, I get right inside each character’s head and see the world as they see experience it

The official midnight launch for Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty will take place starting on July 26th at Fry’s Electronics at 10800 Kalama River Avenue in Fountain Valley, CA, with activities starting at 9 p.m. They plan to have a Q&A, live music, exhibition matches and Blizzard staff on site to sign people’s copies of the game. Both the regular and limited edition of the game will be available to purchase at the event. Can’t make it to Fry’s? Don’t worry as other stores across the country (and world!) will be holding midnight events. Probably not as elaborate as the one at Fry’s but I’m sure they’ll still be fun, not to mention you can snag your
