This morning at San Diego Comic-Con, Activision announced that Neil Patrick Harris (who many of you know as Doogie Howser, Barney Stinson and an alternate version of himself in the “Harold & Kumar” series of films) will be reprising his role as Spider-Man in upcoming game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. They also disclosed other members of the vocal cast.
NPH, as he’s called, isn’t the only Spider-Man on tap, however. The game features four unique worlds – Amazing, Ultimate, Noir and 2099 – and Harris is joined by Josh Keaton, Christopher Daniel Barnes and Dan Gilvezan, in that order.
Legendary Marvel creator Stan Lee is on tap as the game’s narrator, and Jim Dooley’s orchestral score will serve as the musical accompaniment to the adventure.
Each “Spider-Man” actor has a history in portraying everyone’s favorite web-slinger: Neil Patrick Harris took the reins in 2003′s “Spider-Man: The New Animated Series,” Josh Keaton voiced Spider-Man in “The Spectacular Spider-Man” from 2008-2009, 1981-1983 saw Dan Gilvezan in “Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends” and Christopher Daniel Barnes played the title role in 1994 series “Spider-Man.”
Shattered Dimensions will be available September 7, and it lets you play in four distinct Spider-Man universes, from a future version of New York City to jungles and deserts. Each version of Spider-Man allows you to use different move sets, as well.
The game will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC and Nintendo DS. For more information, visit www.SpiderManDimensions.com.
