Nintendo to host NYC Wii Games event on July 16

If you want to get off the couch and give the first ever Wii tournament a shot, you can get a first look at an NYC-based event – assuming you’ll be nearby on July 16.
Of course, it’s also nice that Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson will be there. (She’s the official Wii Games Ambassador for Summer 2010.)
Even if you don’t want to compete, there’ll be plenty of noncompetitive play available, from demos to Super Mario Galaxy 2.
If you’re not lucky enough to live in NYC, however, you’ve still got a shot! Visit the website linked above to get the full summer schedule, which includes Six Flags locations and shopping malls across the U.S. However, if you are, show up at Liberty State Park anytime from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 16 – it’s technically in Jersey City, New Jersey, but hey. That’s close enough.
