Ubisoft reveals “Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood” Collector’s Edition

Having a fantabulous Collector’s Edition for a sequel seems to be a rite of passage these days. We’ve seen our fair share of them this year. Gone are the days of only adding a metal case and a soundtrack disc to a Collector’s Edition, this year, it’s all about crazy, limited-edition collectibles. Luckily, we can count Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood among these. Not only does $100 get you a copy of the game and a special bonus disc containing video, the soundtrack and more, but you also get a lovely art book, bonus DLC, and one of two jack-in-the-boxes. If you want the “Harlequin” version, pre-order at GameStop, but everyone else that pre-orders gets the “Doctor.” It’s worth mentioning that if you’re in Europe, your offer is a little different. The European “Limited Codex Edition,” described here by Joystiq, looks a lot more interesting, but doesn’t offer any harlequins jumping out

    Flynn’s Arcade at SDCC 2010

During SDCC this year we revisited Flynn’s Arcade. This year’s Flynn’s had half the setup of old arcades with one side of the arcade dedicated to Tron the Video game. The video game demos were Alpha from E3 (as the developer was quick to point out). Let’s hope they fix the lightcycle driving mechanic in the 360 version by release. In addition to the arcade this year, they featured a back room that was setup like a Tron themed nightclub. In this room, the seats were made out of the same material as their outfits. Surrounding the room was all the various Tron merchandise. Yes, Tron is going to be a big deal in terms of merch. In the pictures below, you can see me trying on the Monster Tron headset. The headset not only looked amazing, but was amazingly comfortable! The headset will have a voice attachment to use

The Sims time travel to the Middle Ages in “The Sims Medieval”

EA Play recently announced The Sims Medieval, which is a brand-new “Sims” series. It takes characters from The Sims, and sticks them in the Middle Ages. Along with the new setting, you get new gameplay. You can create a hero, and take that hero on quests. You’ll be able to build your very own kingdom to tell your stories like never before. You can control characters from every section of medieval life, from Queens to Blacksmiths. Your characters will determine your quests – one day, you’ll be forging a legendary sword, another day, you’ll be protecting the kingdom from evil. It all depends on which hero you choose that day. You get to choose your characters’ personality traits, as well as their one

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics reveal that DLC just stands for “Downloadable Lara Croft,” obviously

Apparently, for Crystal Dynamics, DLC means “Downloadable Lara Croft.” Perfect statement to accompany their plans for the first-ever downloadable Lara Croft title, which will hit the Xbox LIVE Arcade on August 18. The game is the first in the complete Lara Croft assemblage to offer an isometric view during gameplay as well as two-player online and offline cooperative gameplay. However, the game’s initial XBLA release won’t include the online half of that gameplay. That has to wait until September 28, when the game is released for PSN and PC (via Steam). So, if that’s what you’ve been waiting for, you’re better off waiting. (All XBLA purchases will get a free update to provide that particular functionality.) But that’s not the end of “Downloadable Lara Croft” at all. From October to December, five more DLC packs will become available. The first three are expansion packs with new puzzles, exploration and combat

    Review: The Sims 3 Ambitions

So it’s no surprise to our regular readers that I’m a huge fan of The Sims franchise.  I’ve been playing it since the beginning and was so stoked last year for The Sims 3 to come out.  Since then, we’ve had two major expansions and one ‘stuff’ pack for the game.  Ambitions is the second major expansion for the game, that brings back the entrepenuerial spirit of The Sims 2: Open for Business. Rating: T for Teen (PEGI 12+) Genre: Life Simulator Number of Players: 1 Publisher: Electronic Arts Release Date: June 1, 2010 BUY/RENT By now, if you’ve tried The Sims 3, you’ve probably got a pretty good idea about whether the game is worth your time and money, or not.  For many people, especially hardcore fans of The Sims 2, the game fell into the “not” category.  Mostly because it might not live up to the same expanded
