PAX Prime Announces Panels and Exhibition Hall Vendors

I don’t know about you folks but I’ve been waiting on pins and needles since PAX 2009 ended for PAX 2010 to get its game on. They’ve finally (FINALLY) announced the list of panels, events, and a map of the Exhibition Hall. PAX Prime 2010 is taking place on September 3-5 at the Washington State Trade and Convention Centre in Seattle, WA. They’ve long since sold out of three-day passes so if you’re in the area and are looking for something to do on Sunday, September 5th, you can still buy day passes. If you were pro-active and already have your passes, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for a few of the Gaming Angels (including @Cherithe, Rachel, and me). We’ll be handing out buttons and hanging out in the panels. It will be glorious. And now, without much more ado, the good stuff. The PAX Prime 2010 full session

USA beats Japan in Pokemon World Championships

The Pokemon World Championships was last week where over 375 players from 25 countries battled it out with their Pokemon. In the end, only five remained and were crowned World Champions. The Pokémon Company International announced today its 2010 World Champions: Junior TCG World Champion Yuka Furusawa from Japan and Junior video game World Champion Shota Yamamoto from Japan; Senior TCG World Champion Jacob Lesage from Canada and Senior video game World Champion Ray Rizzo from the United States; and Masters TCG World Champion Yuta Komatsuda from Japan. TCG and video game players competed in the World Championships. All of them had to be invited to the event where players won custom DSi XL systems, trophies, vacations and over $100,000 in scholarships. Moral of story? Get your kid into Pokemon! “We are so proud of all the players who competed in another exciting Pokémon World Championships, and we want to

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 adds two to the lineup

We already know about Thor, Deadpool, Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Super-Skrull, Amaterasu, Dante, Ryu, Morrigan, Chris Redfield, Felicia, Trish and Chun-Li. (Whew!) But now, we’re adding two more. (Note: I don’t think I’m ever listing every character again.) On the Marvel side, Dormammu is coming, and he’s going to wipe the floor with Capcom’s Viewtiful Joe. He’s tiny, so it’s not going to be a problem, right? Enjoy these three MvC3 videos from Gamescom. Follow

    Angel returns to Dark Horse

Joss Whedon’s Angel is coming back to Dark Horse Comics. I actually enjoyed the old Angel comics more than the tv show. The new comics will return in 2011. “I’ve always regretted letting Angel go in the first place,” Dark Horse senior managing editor Scott Allie said. “So we’re really excited about getting him back, as well as all his supporting cast. It’s necessary for how Joss wants to handle season nine, details of which will start spilling out in the months to come. Right now, we’ve got to wrap up season eight, and IDW still has a good long run of books before season nine starts.” IDW is publishing their last Angel story arc in November and from there it will lead right into Dark Horse Comics picking it up. IDW has been publishing Angel since 2005. Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer said, “We’ve loved the half-decade of
