    In 2011, we’ll see a new “Neverwinter”

    So, apparently when Cryptic Studios and Atari aren’t working on the behemoths that are Star Trek Online, City of Heroes/Villains and Champions Online, they’ve been working on this – Neverwinter, due out next year. This is the first game based on Fourth Edition D&D rules. You choose from one of five D&D character classes, and play either online with friends or alone with computer-controlled comrades. Using the Forge tool system, you’ll be able to create your own adventure, too. The beloved city of Neverwinter has a very unclear future ahead. The Spellplague took down a lot of the city’s population, factions are battling and even the dead are marching on the city. R.A. Salvatore will have a trilogy (the first volume is scheduled for release in October) that lays the groundwork for Neverwinter.     Capcom USA and Capcom Europe have a new CEO

    Today, Capcom announced that they’ve appointed Kazuhiko Abe to the position of CEO and President of both Capcom USA and Capcom Europe. He’ll be responsible for the management of North American and European business as well as facilitating international operations between the two branches. Abe first worked with Capcom seven years ago in 2003 as the General Manager of Management Planning. In 2006, he became the Chief Financial Officer for Capcom Japan. In the past, he’s worked for Mitsubishi Bank and a Japanese telecom. “Abe-san has proven to be an invaluable asset to Capcom,” said Kenzo Tsujimoto, chairman and chief executive officer of Capcom Co., Ltd. “His experience of over seven years with Capcom can only benefit the operations in North America and Europe and strengthen the relationships between the Japanese and Pan-Western territories.” It’ll be interesting to see what comes of the two offices in the future.     PopCap Games has announced its plans to release its its fan (and GamingAngel) favorite Plants vs. Zombies™ for the Nintendo DS® (in North America) at the beginning of next year. The DS adaptation will include all new DS exclusive game content on top of all of the pea shooting and watermelon launching that we adore from the original version.
