Latest trailer for “Tony Hawk: Shred”

By: Tiffany Nevin

Have you ever wanted to watch a pro skateboarder and snowboarder lean and spin on a piece of plastic on the most basic of living room rugs, all set in a giant white space?

Well, then this trailer for “Tony Hawk: Shred” definitely has you covered, and it adds music that seems more appropriate for ModNation Racers, to boot.

This gamescom 2010 trailer features real-life boarders Louie Vito and Chaz Ortiz spinning around on a set that looks like it came straight from an IKEA catalogue (no, really, it does look a lot like that). We also get a first look at this game’s faux board, which appears to be optimal for doing 180s, 360s, 720s…you know, the stuff where geometry actually helps you out in these sports. That said, with all the moving around you have to do on this board, maybe the days of actually accomplishing a 1440-degree spin in-game are over (especially if you get motion-sick). Check out the trailer below, and see what you think.

Tony Hawk Shred is due out this holiday for PS3, 360 and Wii, and maybe it’ll involve some of the new motion peripherals if you want. (No word on that yet.)
