San Diego Comic Con is staying put

It was announced today that Comic Con will be staying in San Diego. At least for a few more years. The new contract keep the convention in San Diego until 2015. Both Los Angeles and Anaheim aggressively bid on the largest pop culture convention. Comic-Con Director of Marketing and Public Relations David Glanzer said after the announcement, “We are grateful for the tireless efforts all three cities put into their proposals. In the end, we feel this decision is the best for all those who attend Comic-Con and for the organization itself. WE are happy that the community has worked with us to ensure that we remain here.” The city of San Diego has a love hate relationship with the conference. Today, Valve announced a new “Mann-conomy” in Team Fortress 2. No more endless searching for special items – now, you can just buy them to end the chase quick. If you don’t want to spend the cash (right now, everything is under $4.99), you can still get your items the old-fashioned way for free. (The Polycount Pack, now available for sale, is a prime example of this.) I, for one, welcome our new fish-wrapped-in-newspaper-based economy.

Trailer for Red Dead Redemption’s “Undead Nightmare” DLC

John Marston’s world is getting a little more undead. That’s right, zombies are being added to the world in an addition to single-player mode. This trailer shows off the zombie nightmare, and ends with a promise that the DLC is coming “very soon.” I won’t lie, “very soon” can’t be soon enough. I’ve been itching for a reason to return to the West, and a zombie plague seems like a good enough reason.
