Remix OK Go, end up on Rock Band Network

Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games, makers of the Rock Band series, today announced a contest that invites fans of OK Go to remix their latest single, “White Knuckles,” for use on the Rock Band Network. Luckily, the hard work of getting it on the Network isn’t part of the contest – the winning entry will be authored for play by Harmonix professionals. Your only job is making the music for it. Having the remix available for download isn’t the only prize – the winner will also receive a complete Rock Band 3 set (including drums, guitar, keyboard and microphone), an Xbox 360 to play the game on, and a copy of the latest OK Go album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky (Deluxe Edition). Each week, OK Go producer Dave Fridmann will choose his favorite remixes and feature them on the band’s website. Hopefully one of our readers

Star Trek Fans can cut Pizza warp speed ahead

Star Trek fans can now cut their pizza with warp speeds that only the U.S.S. Enterprise can handle. ThinkGeek.com is now selling the pizza cutter for $24.99. “After years of staring at the iconic shape of the Star Trek Enterprise we finally realized in one ‘aha!’ moment what the saucer section of the ship was best used for… cutting pizza!,” said Senior Merchandiser Ty Liotta. “After a bit of ergonomic adjustment we ended up with the best pizza wheel on this side of the galaxy.” The cutter is is modeled after the U.S.S. Enterprise. Honestly, I’m not sure how someone didn’t think of this sooner. Could make a good stocking stuffer for any Star Trek fan. Follow

Sweet Valley High Ten Years Later

Sweet Valley High is back but the girls are beyond High School. In Sweet Valley High Ten Years Later, the story picks up with the sisters out of college and focusing on Elizabeth’s new life. Elizabeth made the move out of California and on her own in New York. What’s very exciting is this is not fanfiction. Or a reboot of Sweet Valley High. This is the legit Francine Pascal Sweet Valley High series. At the new site, an excerpt is provided to show you a sneak peek at what is coming. Readers can also enter their email to make receive updates on when the series will be out. As an elementary school kid, I remember collecting the entire Sweet Valley High series. It wasn’t a realistic look at high school, but I remember reading it like it would prepare me for what was to come. Unfortunately I didn’t have

Nintendo’s 3DS gets a release timeline and more official notes from Nintendo Conference 2010

Late last night (or, if you’re on Tokyo time, earlier today) we learned more about Nintendo’s 3DS handheld. First off, we can expect an official release in Japan on February 26, 2011, and a release in Europe and the United States sometime in March. The hardware will be available in the aqua hue pictured or in an all-black variation. Colors in other territories may very. The hardware is basically unchanged from the version showcased at E3 this year. And then…there’s the price. In Japan, the little guy will sell for ¥25,000, which exchanges (roughly) for $300 USD. However, no official pricing was announced for the United States or any other territory, so until we hear an official word, there’s no guarantee that the final price won’t be lower (or higher, if this thing has a death wish). As far as features go, we’ll be using SD memory in addition to
