Layoffs and closings affect developers before the holidays

‘Tis a day for lost jobs in game development, I’m afraid. First off, Guitar Hero developer Budcat Creations, primarily responsible for the PS2 and Wii versions of games in the franchise, closed today (and their website isn’t even online anymore). Activision, Budcat’s owner, released this statement regarding the “targeted reduction of jobs”: We continue to streamline our music development resources to ensure that they are aligned against our slate and strategic goals. “Final Fantasy XIV” adds an additional 30 days of free play

Here are the full details from that news post: Eligibility All users who registered a FINAL FANTASY XIV service account and purchased a character by November 19, 2010. * Character purchases must have been carried out no later than November 19, 2010 at 23:59
