    Humble Indie Bundle 2 surpasses previous compilation’s sales, adds a bonus

    The first Humble Indie Bundle raised $1.2 million over a pretty short period of time. Impressive, right? Well, this is even more jaw-dropping – with slightly less than three days to go, they’ve almost gotten to $1.5 million. (When I wrote this, it was up to $1.44 million.) That’s a lot of bundles. The highest sale so far? $3,141.59 from a “grflwitz.” Because everyone loves some pi, right?     Portal 2 Release Spring 2011

    Portal 2 was named the most anticipated game of 2011 at the Spike TV Video Game Awards. It is expected to releasing worldwide in April 2011. It will be a cross platform game, playable on the PC, Mac, PS3, and the XBox360 for the first time. Coming from Valve and EA, the new sequel will feature fresh puzzles, and new test chambers. New areas of Aperture Science Labs will be introduced. GLaDOS, the infamous murderous computer companion from the original Portal will return. The game’s all-new co-operative mode will have unique campaigns and characters.

    Winner of The Tester Season 2 now gets to be a tester

    Click away if you don’t like spoilers because I’m about to announce the winner of the Tester 2. Hey, at least I kept it out of the title right? The winner of the second season of the Tester is Matthew Brown, aka “Gaymer”. He beat out 11 other contestants to win a position in SCEA QA department. He’ll also get a $5,000 signing bonus, 46″ 3D Bravia TV and a limited edition PS3. “It’s an absolute dream come true to have come out on top of The Tester.     Free PS3 Demo of Mass Effect 2

    Today a Free Demo for the PS3 of Mass Effect 2 can be downloaded from the Playstation Network, (PSN). this release marks the end of a deadlock held on the game where previously it was only a Xbox 360 and PC exclusive. A full release of the game is expected around the 21st of January in the new year. The Demo will have the early stages of the game. In it you play out the initial escape, followed your arrival in an abandoned settlement. Then there is a first mission, taking new players from Omega to find Mordin Solus. Once again when an “exclusive” finally comes over to PS3, however, you get all the previous DLC included. There is another six hours of gameplay, for free instead of paying extra for.     Realm of the Titans New Free-to-Play MMO

    Realm of the Titans will be a new free-to-play online game. Aeria Games has revealed that they will be launching Realm of the Titans (ROTT) which is an action strategy title. It will be coming to Western markets later next year. It is described as putting teams of heroes and villains against each other on a battlefield for control of the map. There are over 50 champions from to be released periodically over the course of the game’s opening months. The game design rewards teamwork, tactics, and competitive game-play. Players interested in participating in the upcoming Closed Beta (CB) testing period will get their chance to sign up for the game early next year.

    Castlevania DLC Coming In January

    Castlevania: Lords of Shadow from Konami Digital will have two new downloadable content packages coming out in the new year that are expected to launch in early 2011. Castlevania Lords of Shadow ‘Reverie’ will feature all new areas, monsters, and brand new story lines. In it gamers return to the Castle, this time as Gabriel. Once Reverie is completed, then the second offering for download is called ‘Resurrection’. That expansion will continue the story and reveal Gabriel’s ultimate destiny. This volume be larger than the first. Castlevania is available for Xbox 360 and PS3. It has done well and has shipped one million units in the United States and Europe. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is scheduled to be released in Japan this December.
