A Look at: Talesweaver
MMORPGs have become widely popular both in a casual and competitive circles and there are always new and interesting ones being developed and released. A new MMO being published by game&game (http://www.gamengame.com), Talesweaver, created by the Korean Softmax, is poised to become a hit with MMO fans. The game aims to combine everything that RPG fans love into a unique online experience. Talesweaver focuses more on the combined efforts of players to move the story and the game forward. One of the most unique features of the game is the possibility for players to change the development of the story like one is usually only able to in console games. This definitely caught my eye, as I’ve personally not experienced this in other MMOs. The story is based on the Korean novel “Children of the Rune” and has 8 episodes. Each episode in Talesweaver changes based on which of the

Revenge of the Bitch for Download
The RPG parody “Revenge of the Bitch” is out for download on PC. One can’t be sure how the role of women is treated in this game from the title. But if we want to find out it is available for download. The comedy game is certain to be controversial once it becomes more well known. Downloadable games are not rated by the ESRB for some reason. The Online-enabled games carry the notice “Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB.” This notice warns those who intend to play the game online about possible exposure to chat (text, audio, video) or other types of user-generated content (e.g., maps, skins) that have not been considered in the ESRB rating assignment. In this first episode in a series of parody role-playing games set in the vast world of Untitled, the game combines adventure and classic turn-based battle sequences with monsters ranging from adorable

Atari to Release Dungeons & Dragons for Consoles
The Dungeons & Dragons franchise has largely skipped the next generation consoles up to now. The last true D&D console game was Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun on the Sega CD back in 1992 which was a memorable game in the true spirit of a dungeon crawler, even with the limited graphics of the times. Atari has recently announced that there will be a new game Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale, which will be downloadable, and coming for not only PC but also for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3. The cause for celebration will not occur until next year of course when it is set for release in spring 2011. Daggerdale will be an action role-playing game. The battle will be against nefarious designs of Rezlus to save the Dalelands. Described by Atari as an action RPG with “pick-up-and-play combat,” Daggerdale will let gamers go it alone or

Play Sheriff or Outlaw in Bang!
This holiday I made it a point to try out board games that are new to me. While some can be varying levels of difficulty and fun, I am on the look out for the best to showcase to you! Bang! is a card game by designer Emiliano Sciarra. It came out in 2002 and is still sold at local game stores as well as Amazon.com. Bang! supports 4-7 players and we played with 6. “The Outlaws hunt the Sheriff. The Sheriff hunts the Outlaws. The Renegade plots secretly, ready to take one side or the other. Bullets fly. Who among the gunmen is a Deputy, ready to sacrifice himself for the Sheriff? And who is a merciless Outlaw, willing to kill him? If you want to find out, just draw (your cards)!” (From back of box) This card game takes you back to a time where the Sheriff had

A weird looking gadget that holds your controller has recently gone on sale. The funky foam is called XtendPlay. And the things are Now 10% Off in a Special Post-Xmas Sale that they are having. The New Controller Enhancement for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 looks like it might just ease gamers arthritis. The foam wrapping on the controllers seems to follow a trend of putting mattress foam on everything from doggie steps to shoe insoles. The XtendPlay looks like an innovative, to put it mildly, new controller enhancement for Xbox 360 and PlayStation controllers. To get people interested there is a sale at a special post-Xmas price. Shoppers who purchase XtendPlay through December 31, 2010 receive 10% off the regular retail price. We’ll have to give it a try.
