PSP demo for Square Enix’s “Lord of Arcana” out December 21, lets you transfer characters to the full game

If you’ve got a PSP and are interested in Square Enix’s Lord of Arcana, looks like you get to have a bit of a head start. The multiplayer (in the full version) RPG is trying out an interesting tactic for the demo.

The game itself releases on January 25, 2011, but if you play the demo, releasing on December 21, you don’t have to worry about losing your progress and starting over – the game will allow you to import your characters and stats into the full game when it launches.

Now, if only more demos let us do that. Unfortunately, so many game demos are just a “slice” of the full game – a hint of story to pull you in, basically. If a demo was really just the first thirty minutes of a game, instead of some alien mishmash of level content, it would be great if we could skip those thirty minutes when playing the full game (BioShock‘s demo – at least on the PS3 – is a perfect example of things that have the potential to be skipped later). But I’m probably asking for pigs to fly.
