    Quakecon announces dates for 2011

QuakeCon, a yearly video game festival that is completely open to the public (with free attendance, to boot), announced dates for this year’s event this afternoon. Where do you need to be and when? First, head to Dallas’ Hilton Anatole Hotel. Well, actually, you’ll need to wait until August 4-7, and THEN go to Dallas. You’ll want to bring your computer for North America’s largest LAN party, or, if you’re not so into that, it’s cool – Bethesda Softworks is showing off their upcoming titles. Other companies will also be demonstrating what they’ve got in the pipeline, and there will be panels and entertainment all over the place. Visit www.quakecon.org to learn more. Follow

“Call of Duty: Black Ops” keeps the zombie outbreak going with “First Strike”

What’s more surprising these days? A game with zombies, or a game without? I’m starting to think it’s the latter, because zombies are all the rage, and Call of Duty is doing it again by adding the “Ascension” level to the popular zombies mode in Black Ops. Granted, this is a map pack. Most of which isn’t dedicated to the zombietastic content. Four other maps come with your zombies – Kowloon, Discovery, Berlin Wall and Stadium – when the map pack hits February 1 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. (Yeah, if you’re on the PC or PS3, you’ve got to wait. Sorry.) The following video goes over all of the maps, with a lot of commentary from Treyarch splashed in. Take a watch! Follow

“Anarchy Reigns” teaser trailer features rockin’ music and armor

PlatinumGames’ Anarchy Reigns, due out this fall on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, has a teaser trailer and a description. That’s about it. And that teaser trailer…well, it really is a teaser. You barely even get to see any characters’ faces, but you do get to see a little of what they’re able to do. And in a brawler, that means beating things up. Here, they at least act like they’re about to do that. (Also, I would like that music on repeat – does it remind anyone else of Persona?) Watch below. Here’s SEGA’s description: With ANARCHY REIGNS, PlatinumGames will be using their hallmark creativity and technical excellence to challenge the boundaries of the conventional brawler genre by allowing multiple players to get involved in heavy-hitting action simultaneously. ANARCHY REIGNS incorporates a diverse range of multiplayer modes to provide players with different challenges, including Tag Team battles and Battle Royal, where players

    Slash Info: /wave

Welcome to another edition of Slash Info. This week I got tons of stuff and give away! YAAAAAAY! *ahem* ¬_¬ If you haven’t seen it, Gaming Angels is giving away Beta Keys to Cocolani Island! A new MMO coming up to a browser near you.  Currently in Beta and we have Keys! In other news, this is what is going on in the MMORPG world…. MapleStory: Robots in disguise? Yup, it’s true! MapleStory got a robot class, but don’t tab out of here just yet! It’s not as easy as just creating a character with that class. First, you need to create a resistance character, then you have to complete all the required tutorial quests and reach level ten. Buuuuut, if you have created a character on resistance and done all of the above, but not made the first job prior to the patch, you are in luck. You’ll be
