Activision’s Board Room Ops
Activision though responsible for two of the most successful games of all time, can’t seem to stay out of the non gaming news cycle. Activision president Booby Kotick is being quoted today around the net for comments he made to CNN. Fans of the Call of Duty series will remember 2009′s Modern Warfare and the falling out shortly thereafter between Activision and Infinity Ward. Treyarch of course took over the lead development on the Call of Duty series after the firing of the series creators Jason West and Vince Zampella of Infinity Ward.

Now Kotick told CNN that in-house development team at Activision, Treyarch had been responsible for lead programming on a lot of the multiplayer elements. Indicating including those in Modern Warfare. He reportedly insinuates that Treyarch hadn’t got the props that they should, taking credit for the production and polish to the multiplayer facet of the game. Recently a patch from Treyarch needed a hotfix a problem in the system. About two weeks ago many online players began been experiencing connectivity issues since the patch.
The latest news is that Activision added Electronic Arts to the lawsuit they have going against the Infinity Ward founders. Activision is allegedly saying Jason West and Vince Zampella, not only schemed with EA, but that the two are also responsible for sabotaging Treyarch. Mentioning the now notorious EA BBQ, private planes and secret meetings as part of the suit. Jason West and Vince Zampella, do now have their new studio, Respawn, with EA, with a new future IP on the horizon.
