“Duke Nukem Forever” runs out of bubblegum on May 3, 2011

Gearbox Software (you know them from Borderlands) and 2K Games announced today that Duke Nukem Forever, the game we thought would never ship, actually has a release date. So, when is it? Those flying pigs circling your head on May 3 of this year should be some sort of indicator. (If you’re not in North America, however, those pigs will have a three-day delay, to May 6.)

It’s time once again for Duke to save the Earth, and of course it’s the aliens we’ve got a problem with this time. Duke comes with his usual barrage of crazy weaponry and a dirty mouth, and Gearbox is promising some high levels of interactivity with the world (what that indicates could be scary or excellent).

If you want to play the demo early, access is provided inside the Borderlands Game of the Year edition.

    And now, for a trailer.

But this isn’t just any trailer. Be advised that this trailer contains blurred nudity, obscene language and just…the kind of stuff we wouldn’t ever ordinarily post here. But it’s Duke Nukem, people. He’s a legend. A dirty joke-filled, very M-rated legend, but a legend nonetheless. So if you watch, keep that warning in mind.
