Welcome villainess Katherine Marlowe to “Uncharted 3″ with this official cinematic

Gamers, meet Katherine Marlowe. Not only does she kind of look like Dame Helen Mirren, but she’s also going to be your main adversary in Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3, due out later this year (on 11-1-11). According to a post on PlayStation.Blog this morning that detailed information that was embargoed during GDC, “Katherine Marlowe is the coldly calculating leader of a secret society whose roots date back over four hundred years to the court of Queen Elizabeth I. She has a long-standing rivalry with Nathan Drake over Sir Francis Drake’s ring – something they both contend is rightfully theirs and is also the key to an ancient mystery.” I guess it’s not that stereotypical for a woman to be wanting jewelry in this case, right? It’s all about heirlooms and mysteries, which I suppose makes this at least a little bit different. In any case, she and her goons are

The game is currently due to launch on Nintendo 3DS this summer. “With all the additions and enhancements Overclocked will offer Nintendo 3DS owners when it releases this Summer, and considering how Devil Survivor stands as one of the best reviewed Atlus games of all time, one would think we wouldn’t have need to release a teaser trailer,” commented Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales at Atlus.  “But we’re releasing one anyways and it’s full of teasey goodness, showing off the game’s fully voiced dialogue, new story content, and improved visuals.  We tease because we care.” This new version of the game features voice acting for the entire narrative as well as a special eighth chapter of gameplay. PAX East Panel: Females on Female Characters

Hi Angels! This weekend is PAX East and you know GamingAngels will be attending. @Cherith, @Stealthyslyth, @Kweenie and I will all be in attendance for the con. We’ll have buttons to hand out and will be covering all the news from PAX East for you. I am honored to announce that I am going to be on a panel with other amazing women. Tracey John (most recently from UGO.com), AJ Glasser, News Editor for GamePro and Kathleen DeVere of sketch comedy troupe Loading Ready Run join myself and Susan Arendt (Senior Editor of Escapist) on the panel. Here is the information on Females on Female Characters at the Wyvern Theatre Saturday 3-4pm. Basically, my goal in creating this panel was getting intelligent, nerd-savvy women talking about the things that *really* frustrate us about how females are represented in games and nerd culture (movies, tv, comics, etc). A lot of assumptions

Marilyn Manson walks the runway in Tokyo

Marilyn Manson may be known as a rocker but now he can add runway model to his resume. X Japan’s Yoshiki produced “Asia Girls Explosion” fashion show on March 6 in Tokyo and Marilyn Manson joined in the fun. “When we came up with the concept for AGE, the first person I thought of was Marilyn Manson,” said Yoshiki. “He is the fashion icon in rock’n'roll, and I’m very excited he agreed to be part of the show.” Asia Girls Explosion showcased Yoshiki’s own fashion line, “Yoshikimono”. Growing up his parent’s owned a Kimono shop. This line is actually a visit back to that. “It is a tradition in Japan that the eldest male takes on the family business,” Yoshiki explained. “But I rebelled and got into rock’nroll. With the Yoshikimono line, I feel I’m keeping my parents’ dream alive.” X Japan is working on their first album to be

    iRig and iMic

Have you ever wanted a practice amplifier for an acoustic-electric, or electric guitar that is the size of your iPhone, iPod or iPad and had effects too? Not many years ago you would not have believed it possible. IK Multimedia created the AmpliTube software a few years back, and once iOS came along they started making not only the software, but also the iRig. That tiny little item does a great big job of making it possible for a guitar to be attached directly to any iDevice. The iRig adaptor manages the guitar’s input and allows you to plugs directly into the iPad or iPhone/Pod using the 3.5mm headphone jack, without toasting the thing. It just doesn’t seem like it would be feasible, but it is and it works great. Then you can listen to your guitar either through the earbuds, or the speaker. The iRig itself is small and
