Review – Serenity: The Shepherd’s Tale

Written by: Joss Whedon & Zack Whedon Artwork: Chris Samnee Publisher: Dark Horse Comics Release Date: November 2, 2010 **Warning: This review will contain Spoilers** Anyone familiar with Firefly and/or Serenity knows that the largest question of all was never answered by the show or movie. The question of Shepherd Book’s background. Throughout the show and movie, the way he speaks gives the viewer the impression that Shepherd Derrial Book is not a normal shepherd. Fans have put together their own theories, but Joss never gave any indication about who Book really was, until now. The Serenity comics have been successful and in The Shepard’s Tale, brothers Joss and Zack Whedon worked together to give fans the answer they have been waiting for. In a 56 page trade paperback, we find out why Shepherd knows the things about fighting that he does. That while he was a man dedicated to

    Nike heels for Women?

In my random surfing, I found a link that went to kicksbay.com. The site sells various Nike tennis shoes but with a female touch. Yes, those comfortable, athletic shoes have had the women’s touch added to them and have various heights of a heel. Available in a variety of colors and styles, one could really make a statement with these. I mean Air Jordan’s in heels? That’s awesome! My hope is that it would be as comfortable as a sneaker, but one never knows. The shoes are officially created by Nike but are selling out fast. I am in love with the black and pink and must hunt down a pair for myself!

PAX East 2011: Firefall Hands On

I remember seeing Firefall back at PAX Prime 2010 in Seattle and was very excited to get the chance to have a hands on look at the game at PAX East. I was highly impressed with an MMO that was also a shooter with an interesting story and my most favorite part: the dynamic events. Unlike the video they showed at PAX Prime, I was able to jump in to play was the multiplayer demo; basically a slayer match between two teams. The focus this time around was noticebly shifted towards the PvP aspect of the game so much so that I almost forgot about the MMO part. I was also seriously put to shame while trying to figure out which player class I liked while having a bunch of other players, who are seriously good at shooters, playing at the same time. I may have died (a lot) but

My first PAX East: Meeting people, playing games and unexpected booth babes

How nice that my very first PAX was also the biggest PAX so far, with attendance topping out at 69,500. This is an increase of more than 30 percent from last year’s numbers, and it also makes PAX East 2011 the biggest gaming convention in the U.S. Neat! It’s hard to know where to really begin. I could start with being late enough for my plane that I almost didn’t make it to Boston at all, but that’s a downer (and completely unsurprising for anyone who knows me at all – in my defense, they changed the flight time five times and then left pretty much on time anyway, so I’m wishing they’d just never let me know in the first place). Instead, I’ll just say that I love gamers. I really, really do. I especially love finally meeting gamers that just happen to be my friends – in particular,
