If you have access to a Wal-Mart in the South, you can get up to $200 off a 3DS

For a change, it’s great to be a gamer in the southern U.S. — Wal-Mart stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas are offering a pretty nice deal for those who want to be 3DS owners. Wal-Mart is offering $100 for an old DS trade-in in an event they’re calling “Trade-Back and Trade-Up,” and they’re going to let you do it twice if you have multiple systems. Before you get all excited, though — that $100-a-piece is only for DSi XL systems. Yeah. Here’s the price breakdown, and it’s pretty similar to what GameStop’ll give you on a trade. DS – $20 DS Lite – $50 DSi – $75 DSi XL – $100 But hey, if you’ve got two DSi XLs sitting around…enjoy your $50 3DS! The promotion ends on April 30, and might not be in effect at all

GamersFirst’s ‘APB: Reloaded’ has a bit of a ‘leak’ problem

When All Points Bulletin ended before its time, it didn’t take very long for GamersFirst to pick up the remains. Today, they opted to release a special “news leak” (because they obviously record all of their news broadcasts ahead of time in San Paro!) that can be found in the video below. So, what’s been up in San Paro in the interim? Take a look.

The top ten titles we get to look forward to now that The Weinstein Company is making games

The Weinstein Company isn’t just sticking to movies anymore! They announced today that they’re launching TWC Games, which will be responsible for video games for mobile, social and console platforms based on their “strong and recognizable properties.” They won’t be doing this alone, however – they’re currently working with Beefy Media to forge relationships with publishers as well as create games. “The Weinstein Company is an incredible entertainment company, and I share their vision for creating very high quality content for the marketplace,” said Adam Boyes, President of Beefy Media. “We plan to combine our extensive video game developer relationships with the impressive catalogue of properties to create and produce content made by gamers for gamers.” Boyes will work with TWC Vice President of Production and Creative Affairs Matthew Signer to oversee all production aspects. But who’s doing the work isn’t really the biggest concern here, right? What we care

OK GO’s latest video is in 3D…S

OK Go is known for their creative music videos. Now they have teamed up with the Nintendo 3DS to launch a 3D version of their music video “White Knuckles”. When gamers purchase a 3DS, the first system update will download this video. “We shot the ‘White Knuckles’ video in 2D and 3D at the same time, but until now, there hasn’t been much opportunity for people to see the 3D version,” said Trish Sie, the video’s Grammy-winning director. “I’m fired up for people to watch the video again with Nintendo 3DS and experience it in a whole new way. This opens up all kinds of creative opportunities.” To perform the update, users simply start the “System Settings” from the Home Menu, select “Other Settings” and scroll the page right to select “System Update.” Here is the video the only way I can show it to you…2D.

    Netflix to remove Showtime episodes

Better hurry and catch up on all your favorite Showtime tv shows on Netflix before this summer. Showtime has confirmed that they are going to be removing all their episodes which include favorite shows like Dexter and Californication. Netflix seems to be confused about the situation. Showtime seems to want to make viewers use their service. I only discovered Dexter through Netflix streaming. I think by Showtime being the only provider of their tv shows, that many people will just skip it. Netflix streaming is too convenient (as many of us use it on our 360 or PS3).

    Exploring Emerald City Comicon

Emerald City Comicon is held every year in Seattle.  Every year, the convention just gets larger and larger and the guest list better and better.  Last year, Emerald City had Leonard Nimoy, around the time that he had announced that he was retiring.  So how can you top Leonard Nimoy? Very simple, you invite William Shatner to show up.  The media guest list was rather impressive with 5 well-known fandoms represented: Star Trek – William Shatner, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes and Wil Wheaton Fringe – John Noble and Jesika Nicole Buffy the Vampire Slayer – James Marsters, Nicholas Brendon and Clare Kramer The Boondocks Saint/Walking Dead – Sean P. Flanery and Norman Reedus The Guild – Felicia Day and Amy Okuda Even Bruce Boxleitner (Alan Bradley/Tron) from Tron was there!  I knew I was in for a weekend full of magic when I decided to go.   It was held at
