Marvel and Activision announce ‘Spider-Man: Edge of Time’

If you’ve been jonesing for more Spider-Man following Shattered Dimensions, Activision’s studio in charge of Spider-Man games, Beenox, is working on something to cure that itch — Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Spider-Man: Edge of Time‘s plot will center around two versions/universes of Spider-Man — the classic Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 — in an attempt to correct time and prevent a horrifying future. Ooh, neato. The story will be penned by Marvel favorite Peter David, who co-created the Spider-Man 2099 series. It also features a “cause-and-effect” mechanic where the immediate effects of your actions in one world can be seen in the other timeline. The game is currently expected to release this fall. If you’re at WonderCon, you can learn more about the game at the Activision/Spider-Man panel on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Room 103.
