    Interview: Kinou Games Group

    Spokesperson Seira of Kinou Games tells us that their group makes dual language releases, with voice actors in both Japanese and English as well as JP and English text Their goal is to encourage the inclusion of both languages in the original version of the game, and work with a Japanese doujin group called ZeroZigen who also supports including an English language version in Japanese games, and, ultimately, doing an exchange; having English-speaking game makers include a Japanese version. She also said “For our side, my group tries to be inclusive of marginalized people in our games, putting them in starring roles. Papa Pirate, Baby Bandit will be our first release and our focus for this was a strong female protagonist in many different roles, the ever-elusive brown people in major character roles, and gay relationships that are loving and PG.” Coming at the end of May will be a

    The Empress of the Deep The Darkest Secret HD

    This recently released seek and find puzzler from Big Fish games just came out for iPad. There is a Free Demo which is worth downloading and seeing for yourself. The game has a very interesting feel to it that will draw you right into your iPad screen. The theme is a mash up of Myst and Bioshock. There is bubbling underwater sound effects and an eerie sound track. The graphics are especially gorgeous. The game play is the standard seek and find puzzle style. It is lots of fun and the story is well put together. The Hidden Object puzzles aren’t easy. There is a variety of different types of puzzles and even a book of pressed flowers as part of it.     Nintendo confirms a new console for 2012, playable at E3 2011

    Hey, no more rumors! Nintendo’s chosen to go ahead and put the truth out there: They will have a new console available in 2012, with a playable model’s debut set to occur at this year’s E3. Here’s Nintendo’s short-but-sweet release, which is pretty light on the details, but it’s nice to put the speculation aside for some real information, even if there’s not a lot of it. New bets are on the console’s name…and what it actually does (and how). Good to know those anonymous sources were right. Now the world just waits for June.
